  1. Looking at his last 4 starts: TOR: Did fine through the first 5 innings, unraveled in the 6th. Got zero run support TEX: Fine through the first 5 innings, 2 ER in the 6th COL: Defense had a total meltdown and fell behind early OAK: Again, fine through 5 innings, ran into trouble in the 6th So the theme seems to be to limit him to 5 innings for optimized success. I'll gladly take a guy who can limit the other team to 1-2 ER even if it's only over a max of 5 innings, especially considering what we've been dealing with the last few years.
  2. The one that costs the most and performs the worst. And come on, we've all been here long enough to know that us signing Correa has zero chance of biting the Astros in the ass when he immediately turns into a .220 hitter that misses half of every season.
  3. Page 5 and the takes are getting spicier. This thread has potential. Personally, I think Trout is clashing with Arte and refuses to play. Trade demand incoming. Or he'll make a dramatic retirement post like Yermin Mercedes and Maddon will have to console him and make him rethink his decision
  4. For someone that made as much money as he did, he sure was a defensive, whiny prick. Sounds like his loss
  5. Yes, but Slegers is a proven commodity with a 6.46 ERA.
  6. Maybe he wants to focus on his beekeeping hobby Or we've gone full Detroit Lions and made our best player lose interest in the sport
  7. Detmers will be fine by 2023, just as Sandoval and Suarez have taken a couple years to adjust. It could be ugly until then though
  8. I love that we always play the Dodgers well no matter the talent disparity.
  9. Pudon? That sounds like some Asian fusion dish
  10. I think it's similar to what you see in many other job markets, there's so much demand for the roles that there's little incentive for those at the top to improve conditions, even if's a net benefit in the long term. It's the same thing in finance, junior people get worked into the ground and leave after a few years, and the prevailing argument, instead of actually treating employees with respect and improving retention (which costs less and drives increased happiness and productivity in the long run), is "well you get paid a lot so stop complaining." Same here: "well you're playing for the chance at $100m contracts so suck it up you babies."
  11. I'd be totally fine with just re-signing our guys and maybe adding a bullpen arm
  12. Not sure what you're talking about, I think Michael Jordan will lead the league in touchdowns this year.
  13. In the jungles of Papua New Guinea to be exact. Internet can be a bit spotty sometimes but I do my best to grace this board with my extensive sportsball acumen
  14. These kind of contracts pretty much never age well, regardless of player. But when you haven't been able to develop prospects for like a decade straight you have no choice but to rely on the free agent market
