  1. Maybe Detmers and Canning can hurry up and have a kid and realize that there's more to life than baseball so that they can start pitching well. Not like the coaching is gonna help them
  2. What this clearly means is that we need to sign a few more guys to $200m contracts so they can bat .220 while the other guys underperforming on massive contracts are injured.
  3. No, unless it's for a 1 year deal. This has regression written all over it
  4. He did have a recent game where he didn't strike out, so he's showing some progress. At this rate he should be ready to contribute by 2024
  5. Interesting idea, but that's not in the budget clearly.
  6. This is such a typical Angels thing to happen Meanwhile Cishek could probably throw himself in front of a nuclear bomb and still return in time to let 3 inherited runners score later that night
  7. The catch is that guys like Cishek, Quijada and Hoyt continue to be the ones actually called up and used.
  8. Actual question, out of the 8 or so scouts that we have, is someone actually tasked with specifically scouting Selman? Or do we just keep an Excel spreadsheet with all players and stats and just apply a filter and spam some trade offers?
  9. This is really good news because we get to see even more of Seashake
  10. Cobb would concern me because he has literally every red flag you can think of while being a perfect sell high candidate. 33 year old in steady decline who suddenly puts up strong numbers in half a season. That has Bundy 2.0 written all over it and I don't want another guy with a 6+ ERA next year losing valuable games when we actually have decent prospects in the system.
  11. Does this imply we're gonna try to re-sign Cobb and Raisel in the offseason? I could see it with Raisel but I'd steer clear of Cobb.
  12. I saw two guys with ERA's under 2.50 and decent K/BB rations, which more than passes the smell test given the current state of our bullpen. Maybe we'll find out soon that their only pitch is an eephus and an 85-mph fastball
  13. Junk is 25 but has put up good numbers in AA this year. Peguero is similar. Sounds like a couple of promising RP prospects actually.
  14. *Quickly scanning Yankees roster for relievers with an ERA over 7 Ok great, Justin Wilson and Brooks Kriske it is, welcome to the Angels.
  15. Come on we all knew deep down that nothing would happen. Time to stand pat and finish 81-81. Mission accomplished
  16. They're like 10-42 this year when scoring 4 or fewer runs, so they've been fully reliant on the offense carrying them. of course when 3 of the top 4 hitters are injured they stop scoring
  17. If we actually traded for Scherzer his arm would immediately implode with such force that it creates a black hole that absorbs all of our players. Except Bundy, he defies physics and then gives up 6 runs the next day.
  18. Big surprise, he's pitched well for two teams that have a knack for producing good bullpens. Alas, it remains a crapshoot.
  19. Cishek's ERA would be around 9 if you factor in the league leading amount of inherited runners he's allowed to score. The only thing worse than his atrocious pitching is Maddon's continued use of him in virtually every meaningful game.
