Never mind, he only gets a bonus for breaking Bonds' HR record. I thought he got one for hitting 500 which might've explained why he'd continue to play since he'd be so close.
Yes let's trade him for a 34-year-old reliever with a 1.50 whip. Sounds like a great idea, keep the scrubs with massive contracts, trade the quality players under club control.
I thought this was going to be a thread predicting Hamilton's stats during the final year of his contract. I don't even want to think about that right now.
Thank you. It's not particularly uncommon for a prospect to play way over his head immediately after a call-up. To use one example from my fantasy team, Nolan Arenado hit .323 with 3 homers in his first 7 games. He's now batting like .235.
And that's exactly what will continue to happen. Jerome will be used as the mop-up guy when the starter gets shelled and puts us behind by 5+ runs. Because you want to waste a good pitcher like Jerome on a game you won't win anyway.
So Scioscia has no problem leaving Vargas out there 5 batters after he should've been pulled, but pulls Williams when he's at 70 pitches and not struggling at all.
