  1. Scoured the internet and forums on Yoslan Herrera. During his last stint in the majors (2008) he was a starter who only topped out at the mid-high 80s with a good breaking ball. http://www.altoonamirror.com/page/blogs.detail/display/5994/Remember-Yoslan-Herrera--Believe-it-or-not--he-s-back-in-the-majors.html "Herrera always had a sharp curveball during his Curve days, but with a fastball only in the mid- to upper-80s, the right-hander couldn't get by much on that and had to rely heavily on his offspeed stuff. That's almost always a bad sign for a minor league pitcher, and it was especially bad for the Pirates, who had given him a three-year contract worth $1.9 million but never got much in return." As the article stated, Herrera couldn't get it done by just throwing the breaking ball to cover up his lack of velocity. Well in his debut with the Angels he topped out at 97 miles per hour and continued to show a sharp breaking ball. Maybe the increased velocity can be the ingredient that gets his career on track. Just trying to be an optimist.
  2. Had no idea Stewart was a 1st round draft pick. He was the number 10 pick of the draft! Does anyone happen to have a scouting report of Stewart back then? Really curious to see what scouts saw in him for him to be a top 10 pick, obviously other than his power.
  3. We gotta hope the three-headed monster keeps putting up strong numbers to force the Angels hands: So far.. Morin (AA) 5.0 IP 6 SO 0.00 ERA 0.60 WHIP Alvarez (AA) 3.1 IP 6 SO 0.00 ERA 0.90 WHIP Bedrosian (A+) 4.2 IP 12 SO 0.00 ERA 0.71 WHIP I don't know why Bedrosian was sent to High-A. He had a good showing at the AFL and followed it with a strong Spring Training. Also another idea, what about Brandon Sisk? He was the pitcher we received for Ervin Santana who missed all last year with Tommy John. With Burnett being Burnett and Moran on the DL, we could really use him as the lefty in the pen. He has done nothing but pitch exceptionally well in the minors and it looks like the injury hasn't affected him. (Though a small sample size post-Tommy John injury) Sisk (AA) 3.0 IP 5 SO 0.00 ERA 0.00 WHIP
