You guys are forgetting the Royals are the defending champs, and tend to hit a lot of pitchers hard, even ones throwing 90+.

Weavers fine. He did what was expected of him last night. Ate 6 innings and kept the team in the game against a very good offense. There were a lot of hard hit balls but he also made the big pitch when he needed to get a double play ball or a lazy fly out. Against a lesser opponent last night he probably goes 7 innings giving up 2 or less.

If Pujols continues to suck im sure he would retire at some point.  He has too much pride to continue on as a .220 hitter and still be the highest paid player in the league.  It might take another year or two but once he completely loses it, he will leave.  

Look at Freezey with that .400 OBP.  

Fun fact: Aside from Mike Trout, Freese led the Angels in OBP last season.  Though he never batted in front of Trout where his value would have been maximized.  Its no surprise he was let go.  

This isn't the NBA, one player just can't make that big of a difference. The Angels are several players away from being good. There's nobody coming up from the minors to help out any time soon. But a couple key FA signings in 2018 will do the trick? I just don't get it.

You still havent answered how exactly trading Trout would rebuild the farm or make this team any better. What team who is in contention has enough prospects to trade for Trout? And even if there was a team, what happens if those prospects dont pan out?

Its not that people dont want to trade Trout, its that you cant trade Trout. It would be impossible to get equal value, and all it would do is piss off the fans and paying customers.

6+ years without a single playoff W, a major league team full of holes, the worst minor league system in the bigs, and a maxed out payroll with tens of millions committee to either underperforming players or guys not even on the team.

And the fans don't won't to trade a guy because one day he might wear our hat into the hall of fame.

This is why people think the Angels and their fans are a joke.

What exactly would we get for Trout?  Think the Astros would part with Correa + Keuchel for Trout?  Unless theres proven talent coming back in return, why would you even consider trading him?  Angel fans dont want to trade him because its easier to build around him, than to rely on a group of prospects to pan out several years later.  

No point in trading Trout for a group of prospects who most likely wont pan out.  

Either build around him, or watch him lead the s*** show for 4 more years until you trade him for whatever you can get at that point.

I was so hoping Arte would have pulled the trigger on Cespedes but nope. So far in 13 games he is hitting, .286/.375/.612/.987. He has 4 HR, 2 DB. and a triple with 12 RBI. He also won a gold glove last season. Just saying...

I also wanted him.  He could have made our lineup so much deeper
