I've been team MadBum for a while but the more I've looked into it the more i think Keuchel would be a better signing. I would be okay with both, or even Keuchel and Ryu. I'm also completely fine with not signing Cole, I think we can actually build a more complete team without him.

I'm fine with not trading away Adell or Fletcher for Kluber, lets spend some cash and get Keuchel and MadBum

I believe its a 2nd round draft pick, but not 100 percent sure.

Holy crap the doom and gloom around here is insane. The way people are reacting to not signing Cole, 99 losses have already been tacked on to our 2020 season. There are still options out there to make our team better, not to mention we get Ohtani back. Also the Cheaters Astros will be worse off next season without Cole and their sign stealing. Now if Eppler goes and signs a bunch of Cahill, Harvey types and gives us the ol "Our pitching staff will be competitive" then I'll join into the doom and gloom party.

Josh Donaldson will be 37 at the end of a 4 year contract (He just turned 34 two days ago). So given that option, I'd rather be ready for his contract to expire in 2023 than a 36 year old Rendon's in 2026. It's a personal preference though, which is why I often say "I'd prefer or In my opinion" since I am clearly not an expert when it comes to any of this, lol

I was just about to ask what people thought of this, he slashed .259/.379/.521/.900 with 37 HR in 2019 and is a + defender. A 4 year deal with a reasonable AAV would be a better bet in my opinion than committing $250m and 7 years to Rendon. Thoughts?

That is a pretty damn good looking lineup. Only downside is that it appears all offers on Rendon are for 7 years, and he turned down a $210-$215m offer from the Nats at the end of last season, so I am guessing Rendon's deal will be closer to Strasburg, and honestly I'm not that bullish on Rendon, but hey, not my money. Giants fans are probably looking at a + defender who did hit .297 only 2 seasons ago, and our 1st round draft pick from last year and thinking "not bad" I think a change of scenery will be good for him.
