Someone 3. Someone 4. Someone 5. Trout Who are these 2-3 players that have been more valuable than Trout?

    I don't know how to look up his last 5 weeks or I would but his triple slash in his last 30 days is not at all Trout-ian but it's not terrible either. .250/.377/.400

    The season isn't over yet but how is Donaldson worth more than Trout so far? Because he has outplayed him recently? It's a long season... Trout OPS+: 176 WAR: 7.1 Donalndson: OPS+: 152 WAR: 6.3 Though the MVP voters are probably going to ignore both of those statistics so you guys are probably right.

    OPS is a decent number to look at and good enough for most fans. There are slightly better statistics that attempt to measure similar categories, but they are more complicated and harder to conceptualize.

    I don't usually jump on the "jump to conclusions" or "blame the manager" bandwagon but I gotta say I would be perfectly happy to see Salas being DFA just so Scioscia can't use him in high leverage situations.

    I don't understand the disdain for this guy. He has a solid 115 OPS+ and seems to me would be a great platoon partner with Victorino. What's the problem? Obviously we don't know what we gave up yet but he seems like a massive upgrade to me.
