No, selling off Huston Street was the worst idea ever.

Cron had an OPS+ of 111 in 253 PA in 79 games last year. He's looked terrible during this year's regular season but it would be jumping to conclusions to say that he has no potential. It's not like the Angels are tearing it up at the DH spot. Might as well give him another try, IMO.

You can't have it both ways. If you trade off all anything with value AND trade our young pitching for young hitting... then what have you done? You've done deals for the sake of doing deals... and now? In June? There's nothing to DO now. Now is the time for patience.

I don't claim to have any insight whatsoever into how to fix the team right now. Closer to the trade deadline I imagine we'll see some trades. I'm hopeful for a DH type bat and a left fielder, one of those two to lead off, ideally. However if we fall further down the standings we might see some of our soon-to-be free agents getting shipped off.

Your suggestions were lousy in the opinion of most (all?) of the people who replied. Even the one poster who "understands your point" didn't actually agree with you. I'm not trying to be an asshole, really I'm not, but when your post calls for selling off Huston Street... you're gonna have a bad time. I realize you later said you had forgotten about his extension. If you had made this exact post in a month minus the Street part it wouldn't come across to me as insane, only pessimistic.

Huston Street as a trade chip? Call in the season 4.5 GB in June? Trade the cost controlled SP for cost controlled bats? As QM said, "No."

Wow! I did not expect to see Pujols moved out of the 3 hole. I'm not sure that I like the move but I appreciate the willingness to switch it up.

Albert is having a great season but to say that he deserves to start over Cabrera in particular is pretty silly. Albert's outstanding defense at first aside... OPS+ Pujols - 138 Fielder - 163 Cabrera - 174

Yeah if only Trout could just figure it out at the plate... That's probably the Angels biggest hole in the line up, well, besides Pujols, of course. Trout just strikes out too much to be any use. What good is he if he's only on pace for 9.6 WAR and a 159 OPS+? Speaking of his OPS+ it's really slipping... Year by year from 168 to 179 to 167 to 159. I mean jeez. That line drive he hit in last nights game wasn't even in the gap. What's he thinking? When he hits sharp line drives they shouldn't be right at the outfielder... His aim is way off.

I thought the Knothole was kind of a cool name but I understand Shocktop thought it would be good marketing.

I was certainly hoping it was satirical. But I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see a post like yours meant seriously (by someone else) so I wasn't sure.
