    Remember I said I "believe". I don't think they would have paid AP directly, but that Arte was able to up his price based on bringing in such a superstar.

    As for the tv contract, I believe it was signed right after AP was signed, leading me to believe the tv folks picked up a large share of his contract.

    He was never a good base stealer. From first to third or first to home he's still a rocket. Probably in the top two or three in all baseball.
