Yeah the Samuelis aren't selling - the team is a conduit for their philanthropy too.

Plus they have one of the best stocks of prospects in the league, they will be back to juggernaut in a few years.

Yep exactly. All we can do is hope to lose out, and they each somehow get 2 pts over their final 3 games.

But I don't see us getting loser-hopped by SJ - we'd need to go on a winning streak. 

Who knows though. But man us bottom 4 are TERRIBLE.

Anyways watch Oilers / SJ? The Oilers looked awful, if I didn't know better I'd assume they were a fringe team. I don't see them doing much playoff damage other than what McDavid and Drai do. 

OTL not ideal, but better than the regulation win we had in store with the 4-2 lead in the 3rd. 

0-9-2 in our last 11, can't ask for more wrt a tank than that. I figured we'd luck out and win the Yotes game outright, so 2 points between that and Avs is reasonable.

I think we lose out the rest of the games and just hope for hawks and CBJ win at least one. We have the tie-break so we'd claim the top-loser spot.

Ducks hold serve nicely last night with a regulation loss. 4 games left for us, 5 for the other 3 losers.

Mathematically we're a lock for bottom 4 spot (and thus top 6 pick).

Hopefully the other losers keep pulling in points and we keep bringing in Ls.

Tonight will make things a bit more clear: we have game in hand, and the other 3 pathetic losers are all playing.

A point by any of them will be fantastic.

We own any tie-breaker by way of our sh*tty number of regulation wins, so that's an embarrassing positive for us as this goes down to the wire.

I think it would be nice to get Bedard, Michkov, or Fantilli. After that you're counting on the Ducks scouting to pick out the remaining jewel. And, I think there's a decent chance they could. They've stepped their game up the last couple years.

Bedard, Fantilli, Michkov, Carlsson, Smith is probably my order. 

I think Benson is a step beneath that top group. So if we're at least 3rd worst overall then worst we can do is 5th pick.

Agreed I do trust the Ducks scouts and drafting, we're solid there especially in later rounds. I have lots of Sharks fans friends and they bitch all the time about how terrible their scouts and drafting are.

Yep exactly my thought too on the Russian guy. That's why I think someone like the hawks take him, because they are so early in their rebuild they can easily wait 3 years for him to show up. But he's gonna be a beast. He's arguably the most talented on the bunch.

yeah and the downside is being #4 worst record they can fall back to #6 pick.

really want to do whatever they can to land in those top 5 picks (third worst overall). the 6th will be good but the top 5 are all legitimate org changers.

but still, even worst record overall has 75% chances to not get the top pick. usually some one always does a big jump and teams fall back.

will be interesting. the russian guy is insane, for a team with a long rebuild window like the hawks he will be a stellar choice.
