Now, at least for the Army and National Guard, they won't get those due to the budget cuts. Out of all the outrageous spending our government does, one of the first things they cut is soldiers education? Low, real low. How about cutting all the funding for new tanks? WE DON'T NEED THEM. Or the F-35? The F-15 outclasses 95% of the rest of the world's air forces still, and have never lost in air to air combat. And what they can't clean up, we've got the F-22. 2 things need to happen quickly. First, Congress needs to get off their ass and agree on some budget cuts. Second, Leon Panetta and the rest of the military leadership need to figure out where the real cuts should happen.

Yes. Please note, I was incredibly drunk last night, and I DO NOT wish for the WHOLE Constitution to be rewritten. BUT, you cannot argue that there aren't some things that need Amendments. I believe in the freedom of religion (even though religious prejudice is very much alive and well in this nation) and the freedom to say whatever you want, even though some abuse that right (Westboro Baptist Church). But I also believe that our justice system needs a fixing. It's insane how much money is being poured into prisons, especially in California. But, that's for another topic. In my insane and probably irrational opinion, I do not believe that someone who has CLEARLY murdered people deserves due process.

Terrorists lose their rights. If they're domestic terrorists, not only should they lose their rights as American Citizens, but their basic Human Rights as well.

Innocent until proven guilty? Have you not looked at sexual assault cases? The man is ALWAYS guilty until proven innocent. Everybody talks about all these rights that American citizens have and how the Constitution protects them and they're glad for their rights, but are they actually effective? No, they're not. Our Constitution needs to be rewritten to roll with modern times. It's not 1781 anymore, guns shoot more than 1 bullet every 2 minutes and 90% of the population ISN'T a Puritan. America's Constitution (Amend it!) needs to get with the times.

I don't know if I'm understanding this correctly... You want to go out publicly with all the evidence against the target and publicly say that we're ready to take whatever steps necessary to neutralize the target? If that's the case, wouldn't any smart domestic terrorist run directly into a crowd of citizens? I say bring a judge in on it to make a ruling, then take out the target, THEN publicly announce what you did and why.

I'm sorry, maybe this is just the military man in me speaking, but terrorists don't have rights. Domestic or foreign. When you start killing people and everybody knows it was you (Chris Dorner comes to mind), why put more peoples lives at risk? What about their right to LIVE? **** that, drone strike the asshole. That being said, a whole lot of guidelines would need to be put in place to not have ANY collateral damage. If there's ANY chance you're going to hurt an innocent person in the process you call it off. That simple. I guess I'm the minority here.

Also, The Patriot is one of my favorite flicks of all time. Dunno how I forgot that one.

Flags of our Fathers was an incredibly powerful book, and the movie was pretty damn good too. I didn't care much for Letters From Iwo Jima because I'm a heartless bastard who doesn't feel bad for what the Japanese went through back then. Saving Private Ryan is definitely the best one though. Also, We Were Soldiers was damn good too.
