HaloNArizona reacted to Stradling in Not good enough
Trade all expiring contracts, except Maybin. If he doesn't seem willing to talk extension trade him as well. Trade bullpen pieces for as much talent as you can get. If someone makes a nice offer for Bedrosian trade him as well. Release Pennington, bring up Cowart, play him everyday at 2nd. If Escobar is traded then play Cowart at third. Play Cron every day at 1st. With one of the trades being in a 2nd baseman. Espinosa and Valbuena will be on the bench. I chose Espinosa over Pennington simply because he's better defensively and better on the base paths than Penny.

HaloNArizona got a reaction from Angel Oracle in AngelsWin.com Today: The Angels trade deadline dilemma
Escobar, Norris, Petit Street (hopefully), Nolasco, Espinosa (although I dont see many takers) EYJr, Maybin (maybe)
These are the players we need to move. At this point, lets see if Cowart an play 3B everyday,
We should not be buyers at the deadline. Let's focus on 2018.

HaloNArizona got a reaction from Angel Oracle in June 17th, AngelsWin.com Charity Softball Tournament
In Prescott, Az, we have a 'Challengers' Baseball team that is comprised of developmentally disabled kids and young adults. We have kids as young as four and as old as 18. I have been helping to 'coach' this team for the last couple of years, and even have my youngest son helping out as well. If you have the chance to work with kids like this, it will change your life. They are truly very special people.
Some of the kids on our team go to high school with my son, and last year, the special needs kids and my son and a few of his friends were hanging out at lunch and enjoying the new friendship. This experience has changed my life.

REally....release Maybin?
Over the last 30 days, Maybin has an OBP of .414, 2nd only to Trout with guys who played in 20+ games
Maybin's OPS is .853, again 2nd only to Trout for guys with 20+ games played.
But yea, we should cut Maybin loose or let him ride the pine.

HaloNArizona got a reaction from Blarg in What would roster look like if Moreno had committed to building the farm?
You mean some California products...
Espinosa - Born in Santa Ana
Hernandez - born in Sacramento
Nolasco - Born in Corona
Chavez - Born in San Gabriel

It is also not far to use Hackilton's contract against both Revere and Maybin.
Maybin is making 9 mil and Revere is making 4 mil (for a fourth OFer).

HaloNArizona got a reaction from Tank in Angels Roster Facts
April for Maybin sucked...no questions about it...May has been a different story:
.269 Avg
.412 OBP
.436 Slg
.848 OPS
Any problems with these numbers?

HaloNArizona got a reaction from Angel Oracle in The Official Los Angeles Lakers Thread
Lakers need to stay put at 2 and draft a point guard...if anyone gets moved, move Russell and the #28 pick for a mid first rounder (if possible).
Lakers need (and have needed) a true point guard to run the offense through.

HaloNArizona got a reaction from Lou in Angels Official Website: Maldonado provides stability behind the plate
I was down on him and the trade, but if he can keep his average about .250 and with the defense and leadership he has been providing...I will be more than happy.

HaloNArizona got a reaction from Angel Oracle in AngelsWin.com Today: Eppler has changed the way we view relievers
The same could be said for our starters (although the results are much more varied)
Jesse Chavez - 49IP with 40 K's (ERA 4.22) started all of 57 games out of the 324 he has appeared in
Ricky Nolasco - 45.2 IP with 41 K's (ERA 4.34)
JC Ramirez - 40.2 IP with 37 K's (ERA 4.20) Started all of 6 games in 117 games played (all this year)
Shoe - 44 IP with 41 K's
We are #5 in MLB (#3 in the AL) in strikeouts
This is not Jedi's pitching staff.

Mid-season form....
Three walks in a row, which for us is unheard of....
One Run with no hits.
Awesome!

When do yo want to think about next year?
Based on this teams track record, we need 15 SP's for 2018.

HaloNArizona got a reaction from Angel Oracle in TIme to cut ties with Escobar?
The wildcard in all of this is going to be Valbuena....
He can play 3rd, 2nd and first....If CJ pulls he head out of his ass and hits more like 2016, we can shift Valbuena to either 2nd or 3rd.

HaloNArizona got a reaction from Lou in 2017 NFL DRAFT
Very happy with the 49ers draft
Just about fleeced the Bears and still drafted the guy they wanted...used the bears pick plus their 2nd rounder to move back into round 1 to pick (hopefully) the next stud linebacker. Great first day, and the still have picks at 66 and 67.
John Lynch and Shannahan are doing a fine job as rookies.
