  1. If Ortega gets the call.... Would you consider this line up change: Escobar Ortega Calhoun Trout Pujols.
  2. Bring back up Ortega. He performed will in his short stint the first go around.
  3. He was actually a Roughrider (Yavapai College in Prescott) before he was a Sun Devil.
  4. With Richards and Heaney done for the year, Skaggs delayed, Wilson out to June, Weaver and Shoe sucking arse...it's time to pull an Oakland A's move and sell off almost anything and everything of value.... Right now, I would entertain offers on everyone but Trout and Calhoun...Simmons is questionable. Escobar, Soto, Smith, Street, Wilson by August 1, if he his healthy and can be moved. Let Ortega start and play everyday in LF.... Call up Johnson or Cowart or somebody to play 2B and let Gio go. Call up Nate Smith, let him have a go at it. It's time for the re-build mode. We are going to finish in fifth place, might as well do it with a youth movement.
  5. This dream, it seems, may never come true.
  6. And he still isn't the highest paid player on the Cubbies roster. And he can opt out in 2018 and cash in again.
  7. Not that illogical, considering the Angels offered Jackson a contract to be our everyday LFer.
  8. Austin Jackson: .186 BA .222 OBP .431 OPS Angels LF platoon: .170 BA .254 OBP .443 OPS Yea, I know its early, but.... It's a shame Nava was injured...I hope he gets more AB's once he returns
  9. Love MLB game trax... Weaver: 82 MPH change up Weaver: 83 MPH fastball Weaver: 81 MPH slider
  10. Everybody is ripping on Cron, but Albert, Trout, Gia, Perez all get a free pass? This offense is offensive right now.
  11. Who on this team, with the exception of Calhoun and maybe Escobar has looked good at the plate? Trout and Calhoun have struck out 8 times... It's still early and we have seen some signs of life, but come on, its 7 games into the season, and on the bright side, we are .5 games out of 1st!
  12. A good fart on AW.com is worth four pages alone... So 7 pages is nothing.
  13. Richards, Heaney, Skaggs.....By 2017 these three will make for a great top of the rotation. We will be discussing the big three for years to come. Santiago, Trop and Shoe.....will be better than serviceable #4 and #5 starters, with a chance of being more like a #3/#4 starter (except Shoe, I am not sold on his LOOOOONNNNNGGGG ball issues). By ASB this year: Richards Heaney Santiago Trop Skaggs Very solid 1-5 staff.
  14. With Wilson and Skaggs injured, I think Shoe fits best as the #2 starter behind Weaver...That is Weave pitches for 3 or 4 innings, and than Shoe comes in and pitches for 3 or 4 innings and than turn it over to the pen. Rotation would be: Richards Heaney Santiago Weaver/Shoe Trop Once Skaggs is healthy, he takes the spot of the weakest link.
  15. I also read an article stating how Simmons has been taking a leadership role in the infield this year and has also spent some time with Gia.
  16. Good - Nava/Gentry, Gia, Heaney, Skaggs and Richards Bad - Pujols, Weaver, Wilson, Catching platoon.
  17. If the Angels are really clever, they will hang onto Santiago, as Weaver throws about as hard as my Grandma, CJ is trying to re-invent his throwing motion and Shoe is acting more like a launching pad and less like a starting pitcher. By May 1st our starting rotation will be: Richards Heaney Santiago Trop Skaggs Shoe will be the bullpen guy, and Weave and CJ will be on the DL
  18. Opening day starters: Richards Heaney Santiago Tropeano Shoemaker I would not imagine that Wilson or Skaggs will be out too long. With Skaggs, I think they are being overly cautious. Weaver and Shoemaker could even tag team the #5 spot, let Weaver pitching a few innings and then bring in Shoe. You may not love the depth, but it is there.
  19. Oh yea...I as just kidding, I think we are fine in the pitching depth, and think we need to find a mystery illness for Weaver to miss the whole season. I also like the depth, and was just thinking that the bench players are going to be tough to decide on.
  20. The fact that we will start the season with two or three pitchers on the DL and the F.O. is not making dumb moves, goes to our depth. Richards - #1, fully recovered from knee injury, hitting 100 mph on the gun....looking for a great year Heaney - #2 will build on last years success Santiago - #3 solid first half, needs to have a full season (personally surprised he wasn't moved), supposedly has six pitches in his arsenal Tropeano - #4 will be a solid back end guy on the staff, could be a #3 just to break up Santiago/Heaney, will be moved to SLC when CJ is healthy. Shoe - #5 - Jeckyl and Hyde pitcher, never know what we are going to get, he will be on the SLC shuttle. Skaggs will be in this spot when healthy Weaver is going to have a long injury, and both he and Wilson will be gone next year, leaving a solid core, that will be top 10 in MLB and we will still all hate on JD
