  1. He has had the entire 2nd half last year and the start of the season to do so and he still has not. The fact that he wants to show texas that they made a mistake by not offering a competitive offer likely works against him in this series...
  2. Holland has re-added a changeup to that he lost the feel for the last 2 years that helps him especially against RH hitters and has been able to use it in FB counts so it will be interesting to see how he does tonight...http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2013/4/13/4217420/derek-holland-changeup-2013-pitchfx-sabermetrics
  3. Schedules are pretty similar. Texas has only played Houston 3 times. Swap out the Texas vs TB and LAA vs Det and its basically the same. Ofcourse Texas has not faced that great team up in the Twin Cities yet...
  4. Will be interesting to see Holland tonight. A lot of his success is because of his change-up that he has found the "feel' for. Was considered his best pitch while he was coming up through the Minor League. yet he did not really use it the last 2 years...
  5. Looks like the mighty Angels have surfaced. Texas would be lucky to win 1 game...
  6. Minnesota is a tough place to win. LAA is used to sunny and perfect weather. The Twins are used to those frigid temps. Its like a dome football team going to Lambeau field...
  7. Walk Albert and face Hamilton. Thats what Houston will do
  8. They are a team full of positional journeyman and they are supposed to have a crappy bullpen. They have looked great against Seattle and LAA though...
  9. Maybe they have too many MERCs with the wrong mentality. Cant say guys like Pujols or Hamilton or even Wilson just "wanted" to be Angels. They took the money. So although they should be pros and bring their A game every night it could be a slight thing. Just wierd that these guys would be playing like this so early in the season. You see teams lose focus late in the summer all the time, but not 10 games into the season...
  10. Cant really speak for Pujols but I do know that Ranger players never considered Hamilton as a "leader" type and typically helped him get going as opposed to him being someone to get other players going. So it would seem a great guy like Hunter being gone would be a big loss. Also you have to wonder if the fact that Trout is considered as one of the 3 guys that will lead this team but also being sorta low-balled might kinda be a slight issue..
  11. The funny part was everyone in the dugout just looking at Hamilton and CJ Wilson with his head in his hands while Hamilton just packed up and left like nothing happened...
  12. Texas has 3 more with Seattle and then they play the Cubs, Minny and LAA
  13. Was in Frisco and saw the Angels 1B prospect CJ Cron I think and that kid has a powerful bat. too bad he is likely a DH/1B only tyoe...
  14. The Stros have a horrible bullpen and their hitting has been talked about everywhere, but Norris is a solid pitcher who had bad H/R splits in his career. Houston overall has decent SP..
  15. The Lakers are the #1 franchise in the NBA. Not sure i would compare the Anaheim Angels to the Lakers..
  16. The Astros are a bad team, but they have decent starting pitching. So they will be a very tough team to sweep.
  17. Yeah its tough to start out 2-6 but there is a long season ahead. You guys will be fine becuase your offense is too good to let your team not dominate. Any team with 3 MVP level players will win their fair share regardless of the suspect starting pitching and bullpen...
  18. No worries, you guys have a great lineup so the pitchers just have to be decent
  19. You hope they are not good. I can see more reasons LAA wont win the 89 games they won last year. You guys thought you had 4 #2 pitchers last year and this year you have an average rotation at best and Hamilton is only replacing Hunter's numhers at best. Also no reasonable person can expect Trout to put up another 10+ WAR season...Texas should get improved rotational numbers from Darvish, Ogando and Holland and a bounceback year from Kinsler and a team that gets a better OBP and less Ks just by dumping Mr 2 months..
  20. A couple idiots talking to his wife does not represent the fans as a whole and booing the guy is a fans ticket-buying right.
