I'm all for Arte going away but... Do you think an ownership change was going to keep Trout/Rendon from getting hurt?
That's the biggest problem this team has going right now. The Ichiro version of Rendon was a world better than any of the options behind him, and Trout is Trout. I'm genuinely thankful they got hurt early so it lessens the possibility that Arte pushes for another "go for it" trade. You guys all punted on him in April but Griffin Canning has three different teams tracking his performance, so hopefully he has his usual May/June run.
This season is shot. Best we can hope for is is guys create value for a sell off and that the young guys continue to show signs of life or improvement.
Also, I'm sure the injuries are a big factor but the defense has been the biggest eyesore on the team IMO. It's dragging everything down.
I don't think Arte has any business being a MLB owner. Decision after decision bears this out over many years. I don't have to repeat those "superstars" he handpicked, overstepping the GM and grossly overpaid to long contracts, (they failed) those he traded away or let go for nothing, and had success elsewhere. When he had success stories like Trout and Ohtani, he couldn't field a good team along with them. Not to mention the Skaggs case and other problems within the organization. Whether he's involved or not, he has a touch of s*** and needs to sell. I'm just grateful for 2002.

Maybe this pending wrongful death suit may have been one reason why Arte wouldn't/couldn't sell the team?

Now there's a TV series in development based on the Ohtani gambling scandal.

I "wonder" if Stephen A. Smith was inferring to any nefarious cause with his rant against Trout...hmmm...

The guy I've always compared to Trout is Mickey Mantle. Trout even physically resembles the Mick, who also blasted so many homers, was a speed demon in the OF, won tons of awards and unfortunately, had an injury-riddled career. A big difference was that Mantle was a 7x World Series champion. The Yankees ownership surrounded Mantle with an all-star lineup. Arte surrounded Trout with maybe a handpicked star or two, who never worked out as a long-term Angel. The shame of it all, Trout's Angels have never won a post-season series. It's all on Moreno who has got to sell one of these years. He's the worst owner in MLB.

First overall pick here we come. Thanks Arte!

Pitching fixes many things and we aint got it. Haven't had a good pitching staff for many years, Arte. For starters, Arte, get off your high horse and get Bauer, you idiot.

I was watching the 11 strikeouts. Looks like the Angels are still swinging for the fences. They never learn.

Thanks for posting this superb link.

I wonder when Arte will order the Angels to tank to get the overall #1 in the draft. Seems like just a matter of time.

Maybe he has Long Covid and doesn't want to come back to work. He has enough money.

Here's the latest garbage from Rendon: https://www.espn.co.uk/mlb/story/_/id/39558347/anthony-rendon-baseball-never-top-priority-me
SELL THE TEAM!

My favorite Angels pitcher of all time. A real bulldog.

Dodgers spending $1 billion on two players, one of whom is unproven on MLB level. Good luck with that one!

This team is infested with negativity!

Not to mention the rampant success of Ohtani and the Dodgers just a short ways away.
