I don't think a late decent ST performance will be enough to save Jerome Williams from his fate of not making the 25 man roster. Heck, if could well find himself off the 40 man roster.

I don't think Jerome Williams is going to break camp with the big boys........Garrett Richards seems to have the spot starter, long relief spot and as others have mentioned on the site here, it's likely Richards will get a fair number of starts due to down time of some of the rotation guys.........Hanson and Wilson are likely to miss starts for sure. I think the Jerome Williams era with the Halos may be over unless he accepts an assignment to SLC and I don't know what his option status is.........it may be DFA time.

So the 10th/11th spot for which Stetter and a few others have been battling for all Spring Training, gets ripped away with an import on the day camp breaks? OUCH.

Concerned about Weaver -- he's pitching tonight and looks good, retired 12 in a row and didn't allow a hit until the 5th with no walks -- but I've never seen him look worse than that ST game at Phoenix Municipal Stadium in that two innings, 3 HRs, 8 run performance vs. Oakland. Awful. Hansen is having some arm issues; I see baseballs flying out of the park against Blanton -- I think Vargas will win 15 or so games. Wilson? hard to say. But I think the Halos offense will make him a 15 game winner, at least......may not be a pretty 15 wins but pretty pitching wins not required.

Well, whatever the deal is, it's good for everyone involved at this point. that being said, expect Wells to hit a game winning HR against us when the Yankees come to Anaheim.....I can just see that happening. still, I don't think any of us will be regretting this deal, even when THAT happens.

Barajas? not much of an improvement over Conger on D..........and as we've seen, Conger has had his issues. I don't think Conger sticks with us --- not on a Mike Scioscia directed roster/ organization (meaning not even at Triple A).

3 years at $30 milliion? Wow! That's a bit of a hefty price for him, I think he will do well in Milwaukee -- he probably should have signed back with St. Louis where he had some success. I would think he's more of a 2 years at $7 million price......but, hey, more power to him to get that deal. what are we paying Blanton again? I'd rather have Lohse.

perhaps Bernie Williams -- he can play his guitar on the dugout during the 7th inning stretch.......

well, like Victor Rojas -- I thought he was the best one of the bunch speaking at the Fanfest. I also like Terry Smith. Phyz got a little old -- I like VIctor better........wish Hud were still here in some capacity -- I think he could do the pre-game and post-game call in show pretty well and give poor Terry Smith a break. Terry Smith shows such patience with the folks who call in -- especially after a Halos loss.

He shut the Halos down in a game played right before the Fanfest week and everyone who watched it said his velocity was back up and he looked pretty good. GEEZ........and we all remember how terrible he looked in his last few Halos outings..... the Angels gave him every shot, signed him to a big contract and when he went to the mound he didn't seem to be trying very hard. if he comes back to form, well, I'm not sure I'm happy about that -- he is a guy who I think just gave up for a while.

For some reason my prior post didn't get posted........good job by Chuck, Brian, Geoff, Bruce and everyone at this year's Fan Fest. It's going to be real tough to top this year but I know you guys will find a way to do so! The dedication of the Angelswin,com core organizing team amazes me. GOOD WORK ALL!

What great news -- didn't see what we're getting in return other than some salary relief........how much of Wells' contract were we able to dump? I assume we're still paying at least 50% of his remaining contract...........still, that's a deal for us. what are we getting in return? some third level, single A not quite prospects?

Nice to see the Kings making a real run during this home stand which continues vs. Dallas and then two games vs. Calgary (what kind of scheduling is that? oh well -- Kelly Hrudey, who's from Calgary, gets honored before this weekend's game against Calgary -- I'm sure he'll be there as part of the Hockey Night in Canada broadcast team -- Kelly Hrudey had a great run in goal for the Kings and much like Quick this past season, Hrudey became a real LA fan favorite. Then a short one game 'road trip' to Phoenix, if you can call that a road trip -- and then some more games at home. Kings are taking advantage of the home schedule and that's what you have to do to make the playoffs......nice to see it after the less than stellar start to the short season. the win over the Blues Tuesday was just great -- haven't we swept St. Louis this year? I think we're 3-0 vs. them.

(for younger fans, this is what Buzzie Bavasi told owner Gene Autry when the Angels decided not to re-sign a pitcher who had four no hitters and struck out an MLB record 387 in one season)..... how did that deal turn out for the Halos?

GREAT WIN FOR THE KINGS TONIGHT!! Bernier starts, Quick relieves in the FIRST and gets the WIN.......... HUGE third period. Now this really makes up for those bad losses to Edmonton and Detroit earlier in the season.

Dallas here Thursday -- that'll be a test there........ WOW -- Kings really adjusted in this one......it was 4 to 1 Blues........ and then 4 to 2 after the second......what a third period for the KINGS!!

WOW -- what a turn around in this one....... two minutes left -- 6-4 KINGS -- Blues need to pull the goal tender.

Bernier tonight -- hmm, interesting. LA Kings have had some success against St. Louis recently..........let's see if it holds up tonight. 3-1 Blues now and here comes Quick, Quickly.

Saw this on the telecast -- Scioscia looks like he was having a good time with the Ducks players........ good stuff.......love to see this rapport across sports......... but, yeah, GO KINGS!!! (but I also like to see Anaheim Ducks do well, just not against the Kings......)

Good. Decisions being made. what do we have? three/ four roster position battles? pen; back up catcher, MIF reserve and back up OF/DH type. that's about it. the sooner the decisions made, the better....... have not seen many of the game to date --- anyone think that Hall is going to make the roster as a 1B/3B sometimes MIF (not a good one) utility guy? Hoping Romine makes it for his glove.
