  1. well, OT didn't last long.......Game 7 back at Honda Center. if Ducks would have won tonight it would have been stealing one away -- nothing wrong with that -- but the Ducks first goal was sort of a fluke -- would have been a very tough loss for Detroit. Red Wings are always tough -- GAME 7 will be an outright WAR. GO DUCKS.........
  2. TIED IT UP !! TWO GOALS IN ABOUT TWO MINUTES. GO DUCKS. GO KINGS!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Got Beer "NHL wants Detroit to win" -- no doubt about that, they're the Yankees/Red Sox stuff of the NHL. Same network/ league mind set. Howard always seems to step up. He's darned good. I know I'd like to see a Ducks/ Kings series but the NHL brass must be must less thrilled by that prospect.
  4. KINGS WIN!!!!!! BEAT St. LOUIS in OT......Up 3 to 2. This Ducks- Red Wings series is great. Tonight's game is fabulous. Red Wings, even if they're a 7th seed aren't really ever a 7 seed -- more like playing a top 3 seed. Would love to see a Ducks-Kings series..........
  5. KINGS WIN!!!!!!!!! We really stole this one from St. Louis -- they pretty much outplayed the Kings during the first and second periods and really, for much of the third. But the Kings had their flurries in the attacking zone and made the most of their limited chances....... IMO, makes up for Game One where the Kings outplayed St.Louis at St. Louis and ended up on the short end. Back to Staples Friday to win this thing........we have to win Friday -- if we don't -- trouble. St. Louis has played much better in this series and later in the season than when the Kings swept their series against them this season. KINGS WIN. Ducks 2-2 with Detroit. third period , about 12 minutes left last time I checked.
  6. well, we do have the "team for the ages'----
  7. Youth of Today -- well, good point but not quite what I think the Halos marketing team had in mind......the longer team plays its been playing and the longer the ad stays on, the more likely your comment in your post will be repeated by many.............daily.
  8. yeah -- this entire series -- every time Hitchcock calls a Blues time out, they seem to come out and score right away........ 40 freaking seconds left. Kings still out-played in the third period but not nearly as badly as the first two and really seemed to be keeping the Blues out of the attacking zone much of the second half of the third even if the Kings were not getting scoring chances themselves...... Kings really needed to hold on in regulation.........I'm not feeling good about OT here but we'll see. We really need this one.
  9. In light of how the season looks right now - about a month and a half in -- with the Halos ten games out and some 10 games below .500 ball -- can the Angels marketing department stop running the teaser ad with the Angels have a built a 'team for the ages' tag? The ad seems to run shortly after another Halos loss and seeing it tonight after another loss to the Astros is just too much. It's time to play up the nice Anaheim evening weather, fun at the park, family time and stuff like that rather than the team (right now). Sad but true. If Angels somehow get swept by Houston does that mean the time clock is ticking on Scioscia's time here? I mean, we're supposed to beat Houston.
  10. every game we lose to Houston is two games in the standings as the Rangers and A's will beat the Astros at least 14 times this year.
  11. 14 seconds in we take 1-0 lead but it was the Blues being the aggressor all period long again. St. Louis has really out-played the Kings tonight -- Quick has been sharp in goal tonight. Good news it's 1 to 1 despite the Kings being out-played and now we move to third period with the Kings having come alive with about a minute left in the second and now come out in the third period with 1:55 minutes of a power play -- so the Kings need to really capitalize on that, score quickly to take the lead and then hang on like they've been doing all night. I'd like to see a Kings' third period like Monday night -- certainly some of the best Kings' play in a period of this season. If we could get out of St. Louis winning this one, it would be pay-back for that Game One loss where the Kings out-played the Blues and lost it on the fluke goal on the stolen (given away) puck behind the Kings goal. Jim Fox on now talking about the Vancouver melt down in having been swept by San Jose Sharks..........the sweep should really shake things up in Vancouver -- Canucks are too good of a franchise to be down like this........Canucks are 1-8 in the playoffs the past two seasons.
  12. really didn't like the first period at all tonight -- EXCEPT -- the fact we escaped with a 0-0 tie. As much as the third period Monday night was played at the Blues' end of the ice -- tonight's first period was played almost entirely at the Kings' end. Blues really had some chances and the Kings defense seem to just ward them off......the problem with a period like that is that it's almost like defending a constant power play. you can fight it for so long and then the weariness sets in and you just can keep that level of effort up the entire time. sort of like killing the penalty and defending the power play only to have the opposition score within a minute of being back at full strength.......sometimes before the penalty killing squad can get off the ice on a line change.......how often do you see that in a game? that's sort of what the first period felt like........ Kings need to come out in the second period just as aggressively as the Blues did in the first. Have to change direction of this game now.
  13. Good night -- at least the LA Kings play tomorrow night........
  14. what's our record vs. Houston so far this year? Oakland and Texas are going to feast on Houston -- looks like we'll be playing them close to even. Right now, I'd say it's 50/50 that the Halos wind up above .500 for the season.
  15. low outside 3-2 ; Pujols on deck....... swung at ball four.........
  16. 1-1 pitch -- takes a pretty good pitch for strike two -- now behind in count 1-2 2-2 -- c'mon Trout -- up and in?
  17. did they announce tonight's attendance?? of course, there's been empty seats at Anaheim lately, as well -- but not as bad as what we're seeing tonight....... two down -- Halos about to lose to Houston who came in with what? a 5 game losing streak? Trout up so there's still some hope here.
  18. the flyball I was referring to, I didn't think bounced 'high off the wall' it one hopped the wall in that little cut out area. didn't realize Shuck played in this ballpark for Houston in 2011........AW Shucks. What's Bourjos return date? And he was hitting well, too -- hated to see him go down -- hamstring pull? He shouldn't be out that long.
  19. After this loss and this game with Conger's 3 errors actually causing the loss -- do you think a roster change may be made when the team gets back to Anaheim? Nice Ayber-Kendrick turn two for us -- Harris isn't out there for 'defensive' purposes obviously. Last gasp coming up -- in this ballpark -- it's doable..........but then could our pen hold them if we somehow took the lead?
  20. know this has likely already been commented on -- but GEEZ -- lot of empty seats in Houston. Looks like a pretty nice ballpark, too - although the outfield nooks and cranies are a little weird. Thought Shuck (was it Shuck out there) mis-played that one flyball out there earlier that wound up being a run scoring double or something -- a guy who plays the field out there on a regular basis catches that ball. Now Rojas comments about Lowe throwing this hitter a change down and low so the guy can almost whack it out of the ballpark (just foul).........I do like it when Victor Rojas calls it like he's sees it on stuff like that --- am glad Halos give him the freedom to do that --- makes the broadcast better and believable......
  21. AngelOracle -- we could easily be up 3-1 right now -- that's absolutely true with the way the Kings played in Game One and then let it literally slip away and get stolen just as the Kings were starting a power play in OT.........but it's 2-2 and, yep, the Kings can outplay the other team all night but if they're not scoring, the other team can steal it away -- like Game One. I'm looking forward to tomorrow night's game -- it's huge. More of a must win for the Blues really, but if we don't win it, that means we need to win Game Six at Staples and then do something we have not done this series, win in St. Louis. Watching the NHL playoff games -- GEEZ -- can't beat Playoff Hockey.......... and all leading up to one of the greatest moments of the sports year each year: "Ladies & Gentleman, THE STANLEY CUP!!!!" Those words never sounded as good as they did last year!
  22. "I guess Sosh was right about something" -- nando714 How many here thought that same thing the moment the throw sailed? This stuff is getting painful to watch -- we're supposed to be getting somewhat well in this Houston series and instead it's drawing up closer to last place Houston. UGH and UGLY.
  23. Don Mossi -- I think that was the name of the KC A's pitcher I was trying to think of. member of the All Time All Ugly team.
