  1. i wouldn't do anything extra to try and replace him at all. whether or not he's re-signed, the team still needs a tor pitcher an ofer so i don't think much changes.

this might just be copium but i think the team would actually be lucky to not have to deal with the long term consequences and even the immediate question marks of ohtani if he chooses to play elsewhere, unicorn or not.

targets would be yamamoto and ofer lee jung ho from the kbo. idk how smooth or rough their transition would be but if the goal is to try and compete while also building for something that might be more sustainable then these kind of players from different leagues are the easiest and quickest way to try and do that. i'd much rather that than going after snell or bellinger.

problem is how bad the team has been during ohtani's tenure and how international that exposure's been. idk if the angels can attract players with that degree of self-inflicted negative pr.

this is such a tired, whiny, pointless argument.

if the angels had won in 2020, we'd be treating it exactly the same as dodger fans are treating it.

that's exactly the point, tho. we'd be the only ones treating it that way while the rest of baseball treats it like the * it is.

I think us diehards need to take a step back. Arte clearly caters towards the casual fan. Which I think is totally fair. It’s near Disneyland and it’s the conservative family environment that is the antithesis of the Dodgers. That’s the business model. If they win, it’s a bonus and he’s put stars on the field.Nothing about this move is shocking. And if you listened to AM830 it’s not a place for riveting debate. They read you stat lines and sunshine pump and to me that’s fine. The diehards can seek out the stories and subscribe to Blum and Fletcher on their own. It’s not the Angels responsibility to advance Sam’s investigative journalism career. It’s bad PR but Sam Blum probably wants the attention. It’s good for him. Enjoy the product Perry put on the field this year because it’s going to a fun one.

exactly. nobody that's listening to the fucking radio pregame show or whenever this shit was being aired cares that blum's been banned and probably wouldn't have noticed that he was gone.

  4. i don't like blum cause his twitter pic makes him look like a predator and i think that's a weirdo ass thing to choose as your profile pic but, that aside, this is pretty stupid.

why would arte owe fans any kind of explanation in what's most likely his last year of ownership? why would anybody care when they all know new ownership is coming. dude just kinda seems bent over not being able to interrogate arte or whatever.

wow, that's interesting. seems inverted to my "common sense", but that just illustrates even more so how the angels should be a sterling franchise opportunity for a new owner. i'm surprised then that ballmer, cuban and some of the other "names" said they were out so quickly and decisively.

the only name that decisively said they were out is cuban which is a good thing.
