Saw a report today that the Giants also agreed to Ohtani's deal of 10/700 with 680M being deferred...

Would be interesting to see if the Halos were offered the same deal?

Since we paid him 30M last year plus his endorsements he earned... it looks like we were not.

Either Arte was only offering cash today and during the deal with No deferred money.

    Or

Ohtani didn't offer the same opportunity to the Halos.

i dont think arte wouldve offered that and i dont think ohtani wouldve ben open to that given they wouldve just pocketed it.

the kinda weird ass legm-esque contract he signed with the doyers is a waste of time for a one year deal.

Should have done it with ohtani as an asset. Bet he won’t get close to the previous offers.

meh, i think he still gets 2 easy. i dont think one year of ohtani, given all the uncertainty surrounding him, was gonna make a huge impact on the price.

The most interesting thing about today's official release of the financial information is that the fans of the other 28 teams are more pissed off than Angels fans.

makes sense cause this ridiculous shit takes away all the cons of huge money contracts for high revenue teams.

idgaf how smart or clever ohtani was being, hes essentially as big a snake as durant was.

  4. i wasnt all that mad or aggrieved about the dude signing with the doyers but this whole 2M in actual salary shit got me to change my mind.

fuck this dude and fuck this shit.

idk how mlb can allow more than 90% of a contract to be deferred, idk how that should be able to lower a teams AAV, and idk what kind of smooth-brained, mouth-breathing, helmet-wearer defers practically his whole contract. i dont buy for a second he offered this same deal to all of the teams he was dealing with.

if he comes back and pitches like shit, im gonna enjoy it now. i hope he has fun with the first round exits.

    Why? It is also true.

cause the dude forgot how to hit for 3 straight years before last year and he's only ever had 1 elite season in his career. 8/200 for that would be like hamiltons deal where a lot of people knew itd be bad from the get go.

I’d welcome Bellinger at the right price. Something around 8 years and $200 million.  He would immediately be our best defensive outfielder and first baseman.  He would be the left handed power replacement for Ohtani if he leaves.

    lmao that's awful.
