  1. Yep, still remember them playing "We are family!" by the Pointer Sisters. Good times.... ~ArkyRamsFan~
  2. Don't forget that a rather young Barry Bonds was just getting goin'. And just a bit earlier it was Clemente and Clendenen. ~ArkyRamsFan
  3. L.T.B.U. = Light That Broom Up? .... well, mebbe not!! ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  4. I'm just not feeling it with Silseth. He seems to me to be a better reliever than starter. Hope I'm wrong but I look for him to have trouble with the Yanks tonight. ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  5. But....but.....Rendon.... ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  6. And that is the difference between a winning team and a losing one. We choked the bases loaded situation and the Yankees do not with a .209 hitting outfielder doubling in two with the bases loaded. Ever wonder why we can't get over the hump as an organization? Look no further.... ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  7. Mebbe, mebbe not. Looks like he's showing some improvement but a 25.7% strikeout rate is still seems rather high. ~ArkyRamsFan~
  8. Or we could just cut Rendon and say good bye to him like we did Pujols and Justin Upton. It certainly didn't adversely affect us one way or the other as neither player was missed in the least.... Sometimes ya just do what ya gotta do. ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  9. Yeah, I don't understand this whole draft at all. For some reason I am not anywhere near as excited like I was the last two years of drafts under Perry. Not sure why but that's the feeling/impression I'm getting. Just doesn't seem to be any sizzle with this steak to use the old saying..... ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  10. Then what was the point you were trying to make? ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  11. Actually, there's been some data points presented on AW that says the same thing about Rengifo and his (at the time) .206 average somehow positively affecting our record. Looks like the old adage about there are 'lies and then there's statistics" still holds true. ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  12. How do you figure? What has Rendon ever done as an Angel to give you the impression that he has any relevance at all to winning? ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  13. This is where I am at also. If we offer him a deal with multiple opt outs he won't feel trapped in a long term contract with no way out. Somewhere I heard that Arte is loathe to include player option opt outs and the like but it's time for him to get over it. By any metric he has been a lousy owner and he's going to have to do some things he's not comfortable with to be successful going forward. ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  14. Sorry, but no. If Arte feels he can sign him to an extension then why not trade Shohei and get a decent return and then resign him when FA starts. That would be the best case scenario as we would get more assets and still retain the services of Mr. Ohtani. Unfortunately this doesn't seem plausible at all. ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  15. Hopefully, we won't see another failed Clark like 'ol Bobby Clark. He dominated as OF at SLC but his success never translated to the Bigs. (Really wish the Angels would get out of SLC.....the numbers for the hitters are skewed and we never know who is really developing and who is not.) ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  16. This might really help the Angels. Mebbe someone else will drop to us that we didn't think would be there. ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  17. Jacob Wilson? Is this our first reach of the draft? I didn't see many projections of him being in top 10 ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  18. I think the main problem with Fletcher was his lack of plate discipline which led to a scarcity of walks. Remember at one time he was hitting around .295 but he couldn't sustain it. If Wilson can hit like Fletch used to plus add a bunch of walks he might be worth it at #11. Also I recall that Wilson's power was around a 50. Do you consider this decent/acceptable for a middle infielder? ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  19. I hope that Arte is listening to Vic; he seems to have a lot of common sense. ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  20. I've been doing some reading up on Jacob Wilson. What do y'all think about him as our pick in the first round? ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  21. What was it that you saw that indicated July would be a disaster? (I didn't read your post back in June...) ~ArkyAngelsFan~
