  1. I dunno... Depends on how much poop is on your bridge in Frisco. ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  2. Adams? You mean Jordyn Adams? Guess you don't think he'll get any better? ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  3. Umm....hasn't he suffered enough?? ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  4. Time for a Red to hit a three run homer so the Angels can have their excuse to up and quit again... So sick of this garbage..... ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  5. No doubt the Angels will re sign Jacob Webb when he becomes a FA and then mess with him again and watch him fail and get released only to re emerge and become effective again somewhere else..... Wash. Rinse. Repeat..... Typical Angels. ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  6. Yes they have. And I hope Ohtani takes that into consideration when he's contemplating where to play in the future. Other teams might not be so accommodating...... Just sayin'. ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  7. I like what Urshela did with the Angels but I'm rather concerned that with a fractured pelvis he is going to lose a lot of power and hitting ability. The more I think of it this could well still be a problem with Rendon who had hip surgery 2 years ago and has never looked the same. Especially with his power dropping like a rock off a cliff..... ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  8. At this point mebbe it's best for Ohtani to leave and the Angels use that 45+ million per year to fill a bunch of holes on this team. Of course that's dependent upon Arte using the 40 - 50 million on improvements and not hiding behind his budget like in most years. If Arte doesn't end up using the money to fill holes that he was going to use for Ohtani (let's assume that he's gone) then I'm done until he sells the team. Dude really reminds me of Dan Snyder of the Washington Redskins who mercifully finally sold and vacated the premises after torturing 'Skins fans for over 20 years. ~ArkyRamsFan~
  9. I wonder if this spike in attendance is related to the new rules to that are shortening the games. Something is certainly working.... ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  10. Angelsjunky, If you look again all of his hits are ground balls. I would prefer to see some line drives added to the mix. I think many of those grounders would not have been hits in the Majors. I'm wondering if by having his hands up so high is the best way to hit. Just my .02 ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  11. Let's hope you and Turbofan are correct. If you are then Ohtani would be more motivated by situation and how he relates to his team and its FO than just how much money he can rake in. He's really in a great situation with the Angels because he'll have Trout hitting behind him and giving him protection in the lineup. And the Angels also let him call his own pitches so there's that also. I know some have disparaged the idea of giving him one or more opt-outs in his contract but I'm of the opinion that if Arte and Perry can figure out something that'll work for both parties then this might just be the deal clincher. What do you think about opt-out clauses for Ohtani's contract? ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  12. You make a bunch of excellent points. But do we know that Ohtani has said he wants to be known as the greatest player ever? ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  13. I've actually been thinking about this lately as we are going to have to address this at some point. I voted no, I don't want him back in the lineup. I'm pretty impressed with Moustakas and Rengifo and I don't think Rendon brings much to table anymore. He's lost his power, has no speed, and with his 8 errors already his defense has gone into the toilet. And I won't have any patience for him to struggle through yet another slump while he tries to figure something out. We can't afford to lose any games while he's flailing away at the plate. I would tell him to stay home and continue to rehab from all of his sundry injuries. In fact I'm of the opinion that the reason his power has collapsed since he came back is because he's never really gotten his strength and function back from the hip surgery. He slaps at the ball now instead of driving it. I say put him on the 60 day IL and let someone else have his spot. In the meantime Anthony can get ready for next year when hopefully he can start fresh and healthy. Just my .02 ~ArkyRamsFan~
  14. I see your point on Goldschmidt but his contract expires at end of the '24 season. That would give Schanuel about a year or so to get up to speed in the minors. Meanwhile we would have a legit MOTO at 1B. Something we haven't had since Walsh went down. I highly doubt we're in on Goldie but you never know..... ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  15. I have a couple of comments for you: 1) If we wanted to score a major "prospect haul" then Ohtani should have been traded at this time last year. Since that didn't happen he is nothing more than a two month rental at this point and the word "haul" is off the table. 2) From what I've read with the Giolito and Lopez trade from yesterday the Angels are over the threshold right now. Don't know how long this will last but it's exciting to think that mebbe Arte is turned over a new leaf. Many of us never thought we'd see this day..... Sit back and enjoy the ride! ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  16. The "Candy Man" was tremendous in his prime. Just mowed down hitters left and right. ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  17. He also played QB at University of Nebraska and was Head Coach for awhile. Wonder if it's the same guy... ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  18. I understand and get it that we need both starting and relief pitching but does anyone think we should make a try at getting Paul Goldschmidt? Since Walsh never came back we still don't have a 1B that can be a MOTO. I know I'll probably get skewered for this and I certainly agree that pitching is the main priority but I wonder if the Cards might just be ready to throw in the towel and move on from Goldie and start working towards next year. Just my .02 ~ArkyAngelsFan~
  19. Yeah, and don't look now but Jose Altuve is due back any time now. He's getting healthy just when the 'Stros are getting ready to make their annual push for another Division title.... ~ArkyAngelsFan~
