The idea sounds like the setup for a Donner Party outcome.

I'm not a Nevin fan but that bottom of the order is tragically bad and there isn't a bench substition on the roster better.  Yes,  Nevin plays Nero at times,  watching games go up in flames because he won't pull obviously ineffective pitchers but then again, who in the bullpen didn't put in innings that you can go to? 
 

The Nerds Booger could probably do as well.
