    Could have been something Minasian offered given the timing of the trade. Or, now that Rentgifo blew his latest chance to be "clutch", his days (as AO also alluded to) are numbered once Neto & Rendon return ...who knows?

    My first thought too was that it might have not been done out of professional courtesy. Given how respected Black is (and his past/long-standing tie to the Angels organization) and/or, perhaps, more likely, to spare him/Rockies from being laughingstocks should he have produced (if inserted) in either spot...
