  1. Obviously the Padres would first need to get permission from the Pnudas to interview him.
  2. It's not electronic, it's printed on paper only, shows up in your mailbox once a month.
  3. Does Swordsman have a full NTC? Presumably will waive it anyway. Do we get a compensation pick from PadresWin? Ah wait, no, we don't, we didn't make a qualifying offer.
  4. Only if they hire Ausmus. In which case, I love it, as the Astros fans see their starter pulled before the 4th inning in about half their games. I think an Ausmus-led Astros team finishes below the Angels in the standings. Which is why I'd love it.
  5. It's not stupid, it's perfectly reasonable opinion. What is stupid is thinking that ticket is still only worth $25 today, and that's all he has on the line. He has at least $1085 on the line right now. With at Rangers -130 to win the Series as of today, that ticket has an actual hedge value of $1085, and a hold-to-end expected value of $1250 (i.e., someone betting on Arizona today would need to put down $1250 to cash $2500 for a win).
  6. We really should be sub-contracting all the That's RACIST tagging required on this board to this guy.
  7. This board really should allow us to "That's RACIST" tag our own posts so that we don't have to wait for Taylor to do it.
  8. Since I was looking up odds on the other thread, I saw this from BetUS. Erstad at +5000 is surprisingly long. And Dino Ebel not offered. If they had Dino at +5000 I'd drop a note on that one for sure.
  9. BetUS is offering these depressing prop bets...
  10. I can't find anyone offering win totals on the '24 Angels already, but I see +5000 on '24 Angels to win World Series. Which probably translates to something like an over/under of 73 wins...again. Ugh.
  11. If I got this right, you partial ($500) hedge math looks like this. AZ win: cash 2500 minus 500 hedge minus 25 original ticket = $1975 TX win: cash $785 minus 500 hedge minus 25 original ticket = $285 $285 guaranteed by $525 reduction in max payout.
  12. Hmm, Rangers are -175? At -175, you'd have to bet $1600 on the Rangers to completely hedge off either result. (You get to cash a $2500 ticket with either result.) So one way to look at it, is the sportsbook is offering you $900 for your Diamondbacks ticket today. Would you take that? No? Then hold it. Yes? Then hedge it off with a $1600 bet on the Rangers.
  13. You know, very quietly Islamabad is having a nice offseason here. Rumor is they are in hard on Trevor Bauer also.
  14. I don't care if they bring in Joe Biden to manage and Donald Trump to be bench coach along side him, as long as we finally get a good pitching coach (like we haven't had since Bud Black left). (Here they are arguing about whether or not to put Velazquez in as a defensive replacement with a 1 run lead in the 6th inning.)
  15. Where does one find replacement-level GMs? Is there a waiver wire for GMs? Actually, this gives me another idea. We should have a Rule 5 Draft for GMs and Managers. GMs and Managers need to win a playoff series within 5 years or else they become Rule 5 Draft eligible. And that's how we get Bud Black back!
  16. Live shot of me double-checking Blarg's math. I can't figure it out. All I got so far, is that a 7pm game in Anaheim is 7:45 AM in Kathmandu, Nepal.
  17. Man, Ron Washington has really let himself go.
