    If Upton opts out and isn’t pursued, Austin Jackson might be an intriguing guy for LF. Had a strong offensive year in 2017 (.869 OPS). Cons: only played 85 games in 2017, hasn’t been a full time player in recent years, and struggled offensively from 2013-2016.

    How the freaking bleep does Verlander give up a hit to the very light hitting Barnes? That was the key. In fact, he mostly sucked in the 6th. I thought Verlander usually got stronger as the game progressed?

    Maybe Altuve and Correa are simply channeling their inner Vlad? It's worked for Altuve since 2014 (3 batting titles). Not every batter will have great plate discipline. The key is to not be totally fooled too often.

    Under most scenarios, I would agree. But until Upton officially stays here, it is still a question mark.

    These next two off-seasons may well tell us if Arte is either all in, or has given up (due to failed stadium negotiations?). Remember that he truly hasn't committed to Upton's money yet, just the close to $4 million salary for September 2017.
