What is also misguided is the notion that, after disasters spending on 32 year olds and drug addicts, they should be afraid to spend on 26 year olds that are not drug addicts.

Let's be honest here. Had Hamilton came over and put up numbers like he did in Texas, Angels management and fans would have been a lot more forgiving. Maybe they should ask for a random piss test to any free agent they show interest in, just to ease their minds.

Ok.  I’m guessing it’s more than assumption since it was based on a conversation with someone in the front office.   But if you know Arte, those decisions can be fluid.

Man it seems like these front office people can't keep a secret. What else did this person have to say? Any news on the Mike Trout contract extension?

What @TBrownYahoo saw from Troy Tulowitzki today dovetails with what a number in attendance told me: He looks fit, he’s moving very well and if he’s anything like he was today, he’s going to be able to help a contender. And for the minimum salary at that.

I like Barria but he's probably due for a big drop-off in 2019. He's real competitor and I think a smart pitcher, but still maxes out as a #4, imo. I also don't expect Pena to get better than he was, which was pretty decent for a #5.

Barria is still very young and still has time to hone his craft so while he might have a drop-off, imo it won't be a big drop-off. I want to see how Pena will do preparing himself to be a starter in Spring Training instead of a reliever.

Hermosillo is too young to sit on the bench and play sporadically.  He will be ticketed for AAA, to play everyday and get regular AB's.

Parker has played very little in CF

I think PB has the edge, as he can play all three OF spots, and a he is a late inning pinch runner.

We must remember, a fourth OFer is not a starting OFer...you are getting a guy who will play maybe 50 games a year, at the most.

When it boils down to it....whomever between PB and Parker has a better spring will be the fourth OFer....Herm will be in AAA, and could be a possible trade candidate with Adell and Marsh in the wings.

What gets me is that Bourjos rakes in the minors but can't hit a lick in the majors. That seems to be the case lately for all the players they call up.
