  1. Mixing it up this year. For the last 10yrs + I have been at the National/OCSports Grill... Today we go to Heroes in Fullerton and make our way down to Anaheim around 5:30. THANK GOD BASEBALL IS BACK!!!!
  2. "We want to finish spring strong," outfielder Josh Hamilton said. "It's important to start hot in April. Start off fast and put pressure on other teams. We haven't done it in two or three years here. So it's time." Horrid journalism... Can not believe the writer would just write the above and ignore the facts. The FACTS are that the Angels, in Scioscia's tenure, are a combined 171-180 to start seasons (March + April). The LAST time they were over .500 was in '11 and they were a whopping +3 - Hardly a "hot start" or a "fast start putting pressure on other teams." The BEST any Scioscia led team has done to start a season is +8 games in '08. The next best was +4 in '07. So the argument can be made that they have started "WELL" for ONE YEAR since Scioscia took the helm. Believe me, I want them to get off to a fast start. I want them to put pressure on the other teams in the division. But history doesn't lie... and it is going to take something HISTORICAL for them to do just that.
  3. Thank you CF8... you just helped me prove my point!
  4. Question for those of you who download it through iTunes... what are you searching for? I have tried iTunes and the Apple podcast app on the iPhone and nothing comes up when I search AngelsWin. Does anyone have a similar problem?
  5. Dumped my HTC evo in Aug for an iPhone 5. BEST THING I EVER DID! I have wanted an iPhone since I got the first gen iPod Touch but I let techno android geeks talk me out of it. There is a reason all the other phone makers are gunning for the iPhone. Its quite simply the best. Samsung MAY get close, but it will just drive Apple that much harder. I am never going back to that android shit again.
  6. That's your opinion Poozy. It is not fact. Those in attendance at FanFest can attest to that. If he makes the team he earned his way on. And for a team that seriously needs a #6-8 starter, if he earned it, I am good with it.
  7. My money is on Joe cracking the toilet seat the next time he sits too hard.
  8. Street parking is legal but get there early.... And you are still going to have to walk a couple of blocks. Not like the good ld days when nobody came to Spring Training and we could park across the street for free.
  9. As they did mine. Although I just read a tweet from Jeff Fletcher that said they have changed that policy for sports articles. No matter... this article is Simers doing what he does best... Launch a scud and run away to see what happens from a distance.
  10. Recommendations depend greatly upon the group you are traveling with and what you like to do.
  11. No council members in attendance. The guy running the meeting was the head of the development department that oversees the Convention Center and the stadium property. It's funny you should bring up the class warfare as that is exactly how the residents in attendance were acting, they were adamant that Arte was out only to line his pockets just like he was when he changed the name. They railed on the city reps for allowing him to do that and well known Anaheim realtor Paul Kott insisted that the way the city should handle this is set up a lease based on what the property is worth because that's how leases are done and if Arte doesn't like the terms tell him to go elsewhere to find a stadium. I told one of them on my way out that they better watch what they wish for... He might just do it. They have no concept of what is gong to happen to the area if they let the Angels go.
  12. Went to one of the Save the Angels meetings at the Convention Center a few weeks back just to listen. No Angels fans got up to speak. Those who did were residents that were ignorant at best concerning the big picture of what a MLB team brings to a city. Sounds like the CoA is listening to the ignorant.
  13. For the record I have been saying this about the stadium for years. I have also taken a lot of heat from posters here and those who are now long gone, who said I didn't know what I was talking about, even though my sources were quite good the the stadium was "rotting from within". I said all of this because I believed that one day Arte would move the team if the CoA didn't watch themselves. I hated the name change, I still hate it, but I have accepted it. I hope I can accept the team moving as well, because time to face facts, by 2019, they are as good as gone.
  14. This is sad news. Fregosi was the Angels franchise player in the early days, traded to the Mets for Nolan Ryan, and of course the first to manage the Angels to a Western Division Pennant. The impact he had on this organization can not be understated. The Angels Family grieves and AngelsWin Family grieves now.
  15. I understand the DiGiovana is saying it... but nowhere else on the web is it being said... Lets just be careful here.
  16. The fact that Paul Goldschmidt is leading over Mike Trout at all is proof positive that the #faceofmlb project is utter bullshit.
  17. WhOOOOOAAAA there... watch who's money your are throwing around Geoff!!!
  18. IF it is Trumbo I am not sure COL has enough to do the deal. IMHO it would have to START with Chatwood as a given and include even more. COL is starving for offense, but they can't come up with number or quality of arms it would take to get Trumbo.
  19. Sooner or later Hitler was going to find out about it.
  20. Tank et all.... These posts are generated automatically from the rss feed. If the Times sends the story out, it gets picked up.
  21. There are degrees to which one gets up into another's grill. We haven't had good coaches in the dugout since Maddon, Black, and Roenicke left. ALL have been nothing more than "yes men" to Sciosica. With Baylor here, we have at least one coach who will challenge Scioscia to be a better manager. Something he hasn't had in a long time.
  22. Great job as usual Dave! I would like to challenge all the old Mickey Hatcher apologists on the board, go back and read what Dave wrote and try and picture Mickey Hatcher 1) saying any of that or 2) trying to teach any of that. Folks, we have a TRUE batting coach for the first time in the Scioscia era.
