  1. If I were the CEO I would have empowered the man to do the job he was hired to do... and he wouldn't have left.
  2. I used to say that too Stradling. I swear to god, I never thought I would feel indiferent about the Angels. But its happened. I would even gladly go back to being a 70 win team as long as I know that those running it were doing so to the best of their ability and up to MLB standards. I don't believe Scioscia is and I don't think Moreno is either.
  3. LOL... just went over there on your suggestion. Spent 2min in there just looking at the topics and realized, its still way to liberal for me.
  4. Wont matter to me... I have become so indifferent when it comes to this team. Thats why I haven't been around AW. Scioscia has successfully sucked all the fun of Angels Baseball from my marrow.
  5. I know I am not a nutswinger, but it doesn't really matter who the next GM is. If Scioscia is here, he gets all the power. By force if necessary. That son of a bitch has ruined this team for me.
  6. Before Dipoto, Scioscia never had "today's" GM to work with. He had; Stoneman, who let Scioscia do whatever he wanted because the players he left ST with were the players he had to play with and he had Reagins who was nothing but a puppet to allow more power to Scioscia. Jerry come in to bring balance to the force and the dark side, led by El Catorce, won again. Scioscia has to go in order for this team to move forward. He HAS to go. And I am getting close to being as adament about Arte selling the team.
  7. From your mouth to God's ears.... Do you think you could mention Arte selling the team now????
  8. Don't know how long you have been reading AW but there is ZERO love loss between me and El Catorce. I hate that son of a bitch more than anyone on here.... and I believe this with all my heart and I have since the day he showed up on the scene. No one and I mean NO ONE has Mickey Hatcher as a hitting coach, expecting to win anything. Has his methods of madness been successful over the long haul? The regular season record would say yes. We got lucky in '02 and the luck just wasn't there the other years... but I have to wonder, if he really cared, would it have made a difference?
  9. If all he is going to do is find another GM and then tell said GM who to sign and not give him control over the field manager... things will not improve.
  10. I pray to God that Arte sells this team. Its his "tinkering" that has gotten us to this situation - on all accounts.
  11. The very thought that Scioscia would not use every advantage at his hands to help the team win pisses me off. Guess what folks, yes, you and I want the Angels to win far more than their own manager. So why bother watching anymore?
  12. Dipoto is a far better man than I. Scioscia is a son of a bitch.
  13. Take a look at MLB history and tell me how many former pitchers have managed teams to the WS. It can't happen. Now Black becoming the next GM....
  14. Seriously, the above picture on SI is the first I have heard of anyone picking the M's to be in first. Don't get me wrong, they are going to make noise, and it will be exciting, but its the Angels division to lose.
  15. Can someone give me a synopsis of page 12-30 of this thread. There is no way I am going to go back and read all of that bullshit.
  16. The "upgrades" you speak of are no better than the upgrades Disney put into Angel Stadium. As far a history goes... you forgot the word "ancient".
  17. They also leave for a reason... which is what Maddon did.
  18. Angels should have hired Maddon instead of Scosica. Disney hired Scioscia on name. Maddon was the right guy for the job. Word now is he may be going to the Cubs.
  19. Just got an email from the OC Sports Grill saying they are permenantly closed.
  20. Jobu is spot on here. And they, along with Hamilton have something in common... Scioscia kept on playing them despite the fact that the tea, was better with them on the bench. Just goes to prove that history repeats itself. This has happened before. It WILL happen again. As long as Scioscia is Manager.
