  1. No where is luck more evident than BA w/RISP. We were pretty bad last year, so there's hope for improvement there.
  2. Let's say we trade Howie. 1. Calhoun RF 2. Aybar SS 3. Trout CF 4. Pujols DH 5. Hamilton LF 6. Trumbo 1b 7. Conger C 8. Green/ Jimenez 3b 9. Lindsey 2b That's a pretty big black hole half the season when Trumbo sucks
  3. Williams belongs in the pen, his power sinker is a real asset there. That being said he should be more than a swing man, I'd like to see him in situations in close ball games in the 6th or 7th inning. What i'd do: trade Iannetta for whatever pitching we can get Bourjos to Reds for Mike Leake Sign another lefty for the pen (maybe a non-tendered player/ cheap guy like Mike Gonzalez) Sign a catcher to replace Ianetta to a cheaper contract (Suzuki) Do something to fix the 4 spot in the rotation (FA or trade Aybar) 1. Weaver 2. Wilson 3. Richards 4. ? 5. Leake
  4. This is the year to trade him if there ever was one. The best FA is roider Johnny Peralta, then Stephen Drew and that's about it.
  5. Don't trade Howie! Get what you can for Ianetta and move on from the Jays. Of course if you get blown out of the water, swing a deal including Howie, but otherwise keep him. He's a top 10 second baseman in the league and is payed a reasonable amount. We should trade one of Calhoun, Trumbo, Bourjos instead.

  7. 1. Weaver 2. Wilson 3. Tanaka 4. Richards 5. Leake (traded for Bourjos) There's a reason Hughes was sent to the pen in favor for David Huff
  8. I wouldn't trade HK unless it's for a great package. For me 1 year of a closer and a not so sure thing prospect doesn't cut it. We have the Braves, Orioles, Jays, and Reds (what's the deal with Phillips? they don't have anyone to replace him) to negotiate with. Otherwise I'd keep him. I want to see one of PB or Trumbo traded for pitching as well as whatever pitching we can get for Ianetta/ Conger. Prying Alex Wood from the Braves would be my choice.
  9. We also might want to turn to the D-Backs as a trade partner. They have Cahill, McCarthy, Delgado, Skaggs, Corbin, Daniel Hudson, and Archie Bradley.
  10. Josh Johnson, Phil Hughes, Scott Baker, Roy Halladay, Tim Hudson, Jason Hammel are all potential low risk, pretty good reward players. Halladay appears to be done (It's pretty sad how fast he fell off), but I like Hudson, Baker, and Johnson as 3 starters.
  11. Sign Garza, trade Trumbo to Pirates for Taillon. Garza is an upgrade over Vargas and brings a fire that this team is lacking 1. Weaver 2. Wilson 3. Garza 4. Richards 5. Taillon
  12. High salary all-star pitcher on a seller- Matt Cain, Felix, Hamels, Gallardo. Out of those guys Gallardo would be the only one on the block. Brewers need a 1b, pitching. Probably would be Trumbo + salary for Gallardo but I'd rather trade Trumbo for a young #5 like Taillon.
  13. Trumbo + Jepsen for Taillon Re-Sign Vargas 1. Weaver 2. Wilson 3. Vargas 4. Richards 5. Taillon

  16. Would you guys do it? He is potentially the best FA pitcher and he's still just 31. Maybe his inconsistency will drive down his price, but in any given year he can be a solid #2. Did he leave on good terms/ did he enjoy his time with the Angels? If so, he might be the best option after the Japanese pitcher for the 3 spot.
  17. I wouldn't do it straight up. Plus Marlins now have Ozuna, Stanton, Yelich, Ruggiano, Marisnick. We don't match up well. I would look at Glen Perkins of the Twins. Trumbo for Perkins+
  18. Cobb knows how to pitch. Barring injury, he's got a great career ahead of him

  20. What I would do: Aybar for Cozart and Leake Trumbo and Jepsen for Perkins pitching prospect (Kyle Gibson?) Sign Eric Chavez Sign Joe Smith Re-sign Vargas, non-tender Hanson, release Blanton 1. Bourjos CF 2. Calhoun RF 3. Trout LF 4. Pujols 1b 5. Hamilton DH 6. Kendrick 2b 7. Chavez/ Jimenez 3b 8. Conger/ Ianetta C 9. Cozart SS Conger/ Ianetta, Jimenez/Chavez, Green, Shuck 1. Weaver 2.
