    I would agree, but the only guy I see now that Tanaka wont be posted that can be a reliable 3 starter is Garza. I personally would stay far away from Colon, Ubaldo, Santana.

    If it doesn't work out with D-Backs, we should keep an eye on the Mets. They're likely to trade Ike Davis and have pitching to offer.

    I would also look into Randall Delgado, not as a one for one w/ Trumbo, but as a part of the package. He'd be a good, cheap, young #5

    They have Aaron Hill who they just signed to an extension. No need for Howie. I would trade Trumbo, Lindsey, Jepsen for Wade Miley and JJ Putz (he seems to have fallen out of favor).     Where does it say anything about Feldman. Actually im glad we're not connected with those 2. I'd rather just trade Trumbo for a #4 and sign a #5 like Chuck suggested. 1. Weaver 2. Wilson 3. Richards 4. Odorozzi 5. FA Not too bad and pretty cheap. If that 5th pitcher is Colon or Arroyo, fine but I wouldn't put too much money into them.

    Twins turning to Hughes now. If we don't get Tanaka and aren't willing to go over the salary cap, then we're going to have to trade Trumbo, Howie, or Aybar for a #3/4 and sign guys like Scott Baker and Jeff Niemann to minor league deals and hope one of them can become a solid 5 starter.

    Does this help us trade Blanton with the way starting pitching is getting paid? Is it worth tendering Hanson and seeing if some team will trade for him?

    If we trade Trumbo and Kendrick, non-tender Hanson, Williams, Nelson, Gutierrez and only have to pick up 4.8M for Chacin, where would that leave us for the luxury cap?

    Yeah, but aren't we due for an offseason move that actually favors us? Trumbo and Jepsen for Chacin is pretty even, but Rockies would also be getting Wade Davis (who they like) to replace Chacin and relief help As far as Kendrick for Ventura and Giovatella, it favors us slightly, but we are dealing with Dayton Moore

    3 team trade? I hope so. We needed to use Bourjos and or Trumbo for a #3/4 for this season. We're toast if those two are gone and we're not a starting pitcher better
