Soon, Trout opened the box to reveal its extraordinary contents: a pair of TaylorMade golf clubs sent by none other than Tiger Woods himself.
Would be hilarious if Tiger sent a couple 6 irons haha “gee thanks”
Joking aside, very cool!

I can’t find a clip of this anywhere online - I think it was in 2005, but it was a regular season game against the White Sox and it was tied in the top of the 10th. Vladdy smacks it out to the warning track in center and has an easy triple, but blows past Roenicke’s sign to stop at 3rd and goes for home. It’s a super close play at the plate but he’s barely safe with the in the park homer and the Angels end up winning by 1. That was crazy

it's cool how we're starting to see Eppler's minor league guys come up (not counting the Blash's of the world haha) and we can know what we really got in the system after all this time.
So glad I picked this Tuesday for my tickets back in January!

They're not exactly hovering around .500 at the moment. 5 games under only 23 games into the season is terribad. They're on pace for 95+ losses right now.
Upton and Ohtani probably make us a .500 at team
The bottom line is you're going to be really disappointed if the wild card is what you're expecting. I'm just hoping that our young players make positive steps in their development
They also have lost 6 of 7. They also won 6 in a row before that. Another one of those and they're above .500. Another 6 of 7 losing streak and they're way under. Take the middle ground and they're hovering around.500. That's without Ohtani/Upton/whatever boost the farm gives us.
You could be right and they might lose 95 games and you could say you called it. I'm sure you'd love that

Our team is scrappy! I think if we can just hover around .500 until Shohei and Upton are back, we can take that momentum and really make a run at the wildcard. Especially with teams like the Yankees and Boston off to slow starts.

Good job La Stella and goodwin! They’ve been fun to watch.
If Trout “only” reaches base twice in a game, his OBP goes down lol. Beast
-
Hes not good as a closer. Maybe they should let him open
his locker to clear it out after he’s been cut
of his beard as he looks for a fresh start in his new position as opener
of bags as security at the main entrance of Disneyland because the Angels DFA’d him and beards are against dress code for cast members

Going tonight, 2nd game of the year! Hope to bring some luck, last one I went to was the game Trout grand slammed in. Go angels!:)

My point was that it’s really too early to be evaluating anyone: Goodwin, Harvey, Shoemaker, etc.
Its April 20.
I realize as fans you look at things emotionally, but sometimes you need to take a breath and let it play out.
Weve already seen guys like La Stella, Jewell, Simmons, Allen and Lucroy be “great” and “awful” if you evaluate things in micro-slices.
Ooh I see where you’re going with this

it was some bullshit

we got this, lets go!!

Thanks for all the great discussion and digging into stats guys. Super interesting and you guys do it before I can even think to
do you guys attribute this performance to Reed/Wooten and their gameplan? Or is it the guys they brought in already had this approach?

How are Vladdy and Salmon forgotten haha
Kendrys morales was such a beast before breaking his leg on a walk off grand slam
Kelvim Escobar was nasty when he was healthy-great splitter. I seem to recall one season (perhaps 2006)where he had the worst run support of any starter in the league and lost more games than he won, despite having a mid 3’s era and solid numbers across the board

Kidding aside, I feel like Trout signing is actually more of a reason to NOT sign Keuchel. We don't need to force or prove anything this year and mortgage some of the future in doing so- we already resolved what would be the reason for maybe bringing him in: trying to be competitive enough for Trout to believe he should re-sign.

So happy! This is a great deal! Puts less strain on having to compete this year and let's us naturally work our way into our true competitive window in 2020.
Trout/Ohtani/Adell/Simmons core is so promising and what a bunch of easy guys to root for. So pumped! Go Angels!
