  1. This is terrible.. Kind of sad that this reminds me of the movie Four Lions. It's a dark comedy about terrorism which the terrorisst in that movie target the London marathon. It's chilling to see something similar in real life.
  2. Sounds like the term "classic" was used pretty loosely this week.for you. Went to the drive-in with the family to watch The Croods. It was solid kids movie. By the same directors of How to Train Your Dragon, but not quite as good.
  3. I'm getting tired of watching of the A's and every other team get hit after hit in clutch situations and our "all-star" team fail miserably at bat after at bat. It's unbearably frustrating.
  4. Dodgers are 27th place and it seems were half as clutch as they are, or have twice the lack of clutch as they do, or however the hell you would put it.
  5. I wish I could do that. But seeing players consistently under perform is beyond frustrating. I guess it would be one thing if were still getting beat, but at least Trout & Hamilton were pulling their weight and the offense would come alive, there would be some fun to be had. But seeing this team hit at near .100 with RISP and Trout and Hamilton still have 0 HRs when players around the entire league are completely playing over their heads, it's kind of bummer. Seems like every year there are players who go crazy to start the season with tons of HRs like Morse and Upton this year, Kemp last year etc... but the Angels consistently start off slow and play even below expectations year after year. There's no doubt in my mind this team will become competitive, just wish they didn't have to ease into that.
  6. It sure bums me out a lot. I watch a ton of movies, and most of my movie-watching time, in particular the off season is the evening when the kids are getting ready for bed. And now with the season starting, I'm more than happy to watch some baseball instead but with them losing and playing like crap, I figured, I'll just put a movie on and forget it. But I can't, keep pausing and turning back to the game and torturing myself further.
  7. He has much more room to talk than any of us. I'm not 100% against Mike Scioscia, but what does the quality of his play have to do with having an opinion from the inside.
  8. It's kind of sad that I have no faith in trout right now
  9. He sure is, unfortunately he's not wearing his earrings in this movie. Might add some character.
  10. I don't know why, but a nitpick line I have from the trailer is "Jackie Robinson, a black man in white baseball!" Just seems like pretty bad dialogue that makes me like the movie is going to feel like a made-for-TV biopic and it bugs me each to the commercial plays. Especially the delivery of it.
  11. Saw a preview for this before Evil Dead....franchise still looks terrible.
  12. Previews I don't think look very good. But I have enough interest in baseball and in Jackie Robinson to watch this. DVD/Cable for sure for me.
  13. Cherry Coke > Pepsi > Regular Coke Overall, I'm pro Pepsi.
  14. Evil Dead (remake) - 6.5/10 Decently entertaining and plenty of gore. Nothing much else outside of that.
  15. Weaver has gone full count on almost every batter I've seen him face. Terrible
  16. I also have it. Not one of my favorites in my collection
  17. So a whole new genre most be created for something to be good?
  18. Saw that yesterday too, great little art tribute to him. One of the more memorable reviews I remember reading from Roger Ebert was his review for Armageddon: "Here it is at last, the first 150-minute trailer. ``Armageddon'' is cut together like its own highlights. Take almost any 30 seconds at random, and you'd have a TV ad. The movie is an assault on the eyes, the ears, the brain, common sense and the human desire to be entertained. No matter what they're charging to get in, it's worth more to get out."
  19. Bee Thousand is one of my favorite albums. Admittedly, I've only listened to like three of their albums and have enjoyed one greatly, but I know they have a ton more, just never explored further. But yeah, I love me some GBV.
  20. If the Angels win 15-0, I'd be ecstatic for Jason Vargas
  21. I'm not sure that would work. I'm fluent in Spanish and have a very had time understanding Vlad's very quickly muttered responses in Spanish.
  22. I actually really enjoy this song a lot, but also think the video is hilarious: Here's another one:
  23. Very sad to hear. Didn't always agree with his opinions but he always was good at least at defending his opinion. Will always appreciate him for Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.
  24. In recent interviews with Raimi, he said he really wants to do it and is currently working on the script with the help of his brother I believe. Not sure if it will end up happening but he's now behind it according to him.
