  1. Play Misty for Me is fun. I think that was his directorial debut if I'm not mistaken.
  2. Can someone go to Howie's house and change all his calendars and change the date on his phone so he can always think it's March.
  3. 9 Hits 9 ERs in 0.2 innings. not too bad a start
  4. Nice time for Lucho to cap it off with career HR #1
  5. Yeah, the RISP is killing us and the lack of power as well. It's pretty telling when Justin Upton currently has 9 HRs, when our "big 4" have combined for I believe 6 HRs total. Also, Coco Crisp and Vernon Wells alone have 5 HRs almost equaling that total.
  6. Tommy Hanson could cut the walks a bit but he did a great job getting out of jams and I give him credit for a nice start that we needed. Credit to him for pitching well against two tough teams in the Rangers and now Tigers, just unfortunate he stumbled badly against the Astros.
  7. Looking at the replay....would Bourjos have had a chance at an inside-the-park HR if sprinted from the get-go? When they fumbled with it off the wall, I thought he would have a chance for it but when I saw him pulling into third when they tossed it to the cut-off, I figured not. But on the replay, it shows him not sprinting until halfway to second. Would have interesting to see an inside-the-park grand slam.
  8. Yeah, I thought we're basically only sticking to films he directed. He also punched up the script to Crimson Tide a bit. Probably most evident in the part where they argue about Silver Surfer.
  9. Yeah I enjoyed both for different reasons. Moon was a great intimate low-budget sci-fi film with very little special effects and Source Code was just showing what he could do given a large budget and going all out making a borderline blockbuster type film, but still giving a little depth to it.
  10. I'm going to see likely never. Don't think it looks terrible but there's nothing that really catch my interest in this movie. With other movies from this year that I hope to see, I don't ever think I'll watch this.
  11. I'm burnt on Zombie films. I remember enjoying House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects initially, and then after hating the Halloween remake, went back rewatched the others and I just can't do it. I'll check this movie out eventually if reviews are solid but I cannot stand his dialogue and his lack of subtlety with it. He's decent enough director, but I'd be more interested in this if he didn't write the screenplay himself
  12. Sorry I worded them incorrectly. By "one or two", I meant one or two of the films (I'm including Superman Returns in the bunch). From what I've gathered, Superman I & 2 are universally praised. Superman IV and Returns are pretty negatively received. And I've personally heard mix things from people nowadays on Superman 3 saying it's not bad just people weren't expecting the film to go more of a comedy route than the other two.
  13. I'm actually eager to check out all the original films (I haven't seen any) though I know one or two are considered universally bad, and Superman 3 is pretty split. I picked up the box set that has the four original films (and Superman Returns) and hope to watch them before Man of Steel comes out.
  14. Michael Shannon as Zod is enough for me. Luthor or no Luthor. Then again, I really don't know the entire Superman story or have any strong connection to it.
  15. Work for AT&T and rocking a free Pantech Flex. I think the only watch I've ever worn in my life was a calculator watch in elementary school. I'm also more of a Coffee Bean guy and caramel sucks. Mocha all the way man!
  16. He is far from the worst, he's solid. I'm usually more anti-Tarantino than most though I still like his stuff, but he's definitely not terrible. I enjoy his taste in films probably more than his actual films and he wouldn't be among my favorite 25 directors or anything either, but his films are ultimately enjoyable and easy to watch.
  17. I thought Death Proof was pretty bad, but yeah, I would agree that nearly all of his films aren't garbage. Incredibly derivative, yes, but still good.
  18. Normally don't like Zack Snyder but this doesn't seem very Zackk Snyder-ish. Seems almost like Zack Snyder channeling Terrence Malick. I'm not really a Superman fan to be honest, but this does catch my interest more than the Marvel movies.
  19. Not a huge Tarantino fan, but I do enjoy all his films for the most part, except one. I would say: Reservoir Dogs Django Unchained Pulp Fiction Inglourious Basterds Jackie Brown Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 Death Proof I did recently pick up the Tarantino XX Blu-Ray set as well Django yesterday, so I might give everything another shot and see where they'd rank fresh in my mind.
  20. More just judging for what it is. It's a solid run-of-the-mill action thriller. Has Tony Scott's typical hyper-kinetic visual flare that he seemed to start using since Man on Fire, and seems to fit decently with the movie. A light 7 for what it is I suppose.
  21. Purple Noon - 8/10 The earliest adaptation of the story of the Talented Mr. Ripley, which admittedly the only one I had seen is The Talented Mr. Ripley itself, and remember nothing from it. The movie is great and stars Alain Delon in one of his earlier roles. Curious to now finally check out The American Friend, which is Wim Wenders' adaptation of the story starring Dennis Hopper. Three Amigos - 8/10 A big comedic blind spot for me. Came out the year I was born so technically I guess it's "before my time" but most of the films I watch are. Great '80s comedy and very quotable. Essentially takes the story of the Seven Samurai and Magnificent Seven, and converts into a comedy. Later retold again with A Bug's Life. Unstoppable - 7/10 Cliche action thriller that hits a lot of the tropes that go with the genre, but it's fun and does it job.
