Wonder if fatigue was a factor.

Two mile high games in 3 days

That said, heck of a 4th quarter for Murray

    Single handily won that game.

I hope the Nuggets destroy the hated Celtics, if they play them.

Too bad it's first to win 4 games and not 2, otherwise we would have played the Kings instead of the Warriors.

    UNINTENTIONAL

    Look at Lorenzen’s body language.

There’s a difference between that and a mound visit immediately followed by two brushback pitches including one nearly beaning Trout.

    Does not 2 = 2 ?

Two head level brushbacks of Trout vs one brushback of Rodriguez and one of Tinkie Winkie Wanker (only one of those two above the waist).

Tell me then how Nevin gets 10 games and Servais ZERO?

MLB discipline office is a joke.

    Rob ManLessFred is another joke.

If the Mariners wanted to hit Trout in the head they would have done it earlier in the game and used a pitcher they could afford to get thrown out, not in the 9th inning up by only 2, a man on 1st, and their closer on the mound.

One thought being thrown out there is to stretch out Westbrook’s remaining year of salary in 2022-23, like they did with Luol Deng, and let Westbrook walk after this season.

The salary cap is then such that they can bring in a key rotation piece plus a mid-level exception, and of course decent to solid defense and 3 pt shooting required, things Westbrook sorely lacks.

Well considering they are still paying Deng for that awful contract, it is only fitting they do the same with Westbrook, right as Deng's salary falls of the books next year.

  4. Saw this on Facebook:

    - Nearly deal Kyle Kuzma and Montrezl Harrell for Buddy Hield.

    - Should accept Raptors trade demand; Dennis Schroder, Talen Horton-Tucker, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and No.22 pick for Kyle Lowry via sign & trade.

    - DeMar DeRozan taking paycut in free agency to join LeBron, AD and to reunite with Lowry.

    - They could resign Alex Caruso into a decent contract.

    Potential Starting Lineup if happens

    PG: Kyle Lowry

    SG: Buddy Hield

    SF: DeMar DeRozan

    PF: LeBron James

    😄 Anthony Davis

Myself, I’m half and half on Vogel.

The Westbrook trade was ill advised, given the salary owed him and how it crippled their ability to play defense and add another solid two way player.

But, bad defense is also partly on the coach in how he is teaching it.

Any way you cut it, 26-31 for a proud franchise with two superstars is never acceptable.

Frank had them as one of the best defensive team last 2 seasons, he didn't just forget how to coach defense. Look at the team:

    AD: best defender, elite

Lebron: old, doesn't play much defense anymore (compared to past 2 years)

Westbrook: never played a lick of defense

Monk: never really played much defense

Melo: never played defense and old

    Bradley: good defender but old

    Ariza: good defender but old

    DJ: old

    Dwight: old

THT: young, not a good defender

Can't teach defense to guys that are old or those that haven't played any they whole careers. Only person on that list that can be taught is Monk and THT.

  6. I don't blame Vogel one bit. He's been done dirty by the organization. Who can coach a team when 80% of the team is new season after season. Aside from Lebron and AD every year he has to start with a new team. And then, a season after they were up 2-1 against the team that made it to the finals before AD got hurt, they decide to trade/not resign all the scrappy younger guys from last year for over the hill dudes that haven't ever played defense or can't play defense anymore.

Like the Fonz would say, I was wrrrr, I was wrrr, I was not right about saying the Rams need to rebuild.

But, it is crystal clear that what the Lakers are is NOT a contender in any way.

They do need to seriously consider a rebuild.

LBJ and Westbrook have one year plus to go to FA.   Time to consider trading them after the season and start the rebuild?    Westbrook’s $47 million though makes that difficult.

Think Pelinka wishes he had second thoughts about doing that Westbrook trade in the off-season?

LBJ is still in prime playing form.   But with the questionable talent around him to consider contending, seems a waste of his talent.

Unless they can trade Westbrook for some decent return, they are screwed for next year. They have 145 million guaranteed to Westbrook, Lebron, AD, THT, Nunn, Johnson and Reaves. That doesn't include Monk who is a FA and who they should resign. This season their total salary is 163 million so about 18 million to resign Monk and fill out the rest of the roster. Not a good place to be in.

  8. Man what a disastrous decision this is looking like so far by nixing the Hield trade and trading for Westbrook. Could have kept KCP and gotten Hield, both of whom are 3&D guys, shooting 40%+ from the 3. But instead got Westbrook who puts up great all around stats but cancels all of that out and more with horrible 3pt shooting, horrible ft shooting, tons of turnovers and awful defense to a tune of being -4.2 avg/game when he's on the court, 2nd worst on the team.

You're exaggerating, and I'm not that knowledgeable about the stats to begin with.  So let's try to meet in a more rational middle ground.  I checked Iglesias's stats in two different places, and compared with Bogaerts, the player he was brought in by the Red Sox to replace for however long it might be.  Iglesias has played SS, 2B and 3B, mostly SS in his career.  His career fielding pct is .982, while Bogaerts' is .978.  But Iglesias fell off in FP this year to .958, part of the time playing out of his preferred position.  Iglesias made 16 errors with the Angels this year, which is by far his career high for a season.  That's unacceptable, definitely.  I knew he had an unusually high E total, and took that into account.  So overall, you can't say Iglesias has been a terrible SS over his time in the league.  Andrelton Simmons, who departed the Angels but was long considered an elite SS, had 12 errors so far this year with Minn, a FP of .974, and is batting a rather pathetic .224 in 118 games with 3 HRs and 29 RBI.  Iglesias is batting .259, w 8 HRs and 42 RBI in the same number of games.  So who do you want?

You probably still think Albert Pujols is an elite 1B.

BTW the Angels let go of Simmons because he was no longer the elite SS that they traded for. I doubt they wanted to replace him with someone worse.

Once the Blazers win one more game, then they’re meaningless as the Lakers will then clinch being the 7 seed.

Plus can they win in the playoffs with him not playing before they start?   Got to have some cohesion then.

These games may be meaningful in the seeding but are meaningless in the bigger picture, their pursuit of the ring. It doesn't matter whether they are in 6th or 7th as long as Lebron can come back healthy and stay healthy throughout the playoffs. If the Lakers can't win 1 of 2 games against the 8th or 9th seeded teams in the west in the playin then they have no business playing in the playoffs as their stay will be short.

As far as Blazers winning 1 more game, that game is against the Nuggets, who now control their 1st round match up. A loss to Portland and they are guaranteed to avoid the Lakers. A win, combined with 2 Lakers wins, they would face the Lakers. I'm pretty sure I know what their preference is.
