The video doesn’t show much of the before and after for what is going on. You could be right but you could also be wrong. Apparently your mind is made up based on your personal biases. I’ve deleted twitter as it’s very toxic with stuff just like this.

There is no justification for assaulting a citizen like that, no matter what happened before. If they did that to a police officer they would be in jail. If they did something illegal before the video started recording, they should have been arrested or detained not smacked around like a blow up doll.

Trump did tell local authorities that he’d deal with the rioting if they refused to do so. Apparently Portland thought he was bluffing or they support it. Whether what’s going on is  wrong or not is a different issue

So nice of him, helping the cities deal with some crazies vandalizing some buildings, but a virus killing 1000 people per day, nah not going to get involved

Look, you've been bitching about how everything has been handled incorrectly but have never once outlined how it should have been since the beginning. A step by step, phase by phase, national plan to prevent the spread of a virus that was kept from public knowledge by China until it already had spread worldwide.

It is so easy to complain about what has gone down but it seems you are unable to show you would have had a better plan. I know I don't have one. I still don't know that without a totalitarian iron fist this country could adopt measures that would strangle the spread of this virus. We already bankrupted millions by shutting down large sectors of the economy and civil unrest undid those gains.

It seems we, as a nation, have to ride it out until science brings a cure.

Funny you mention a step by step, phase by phase, national plan because the White House actually put out one but no state actually followed it and Trump never cared to enforce it, too worried about opening the states https://www.whitehouse.gov/openingamerica/

Also how about tests for everyone who wants one and results that don't take 7+ days to get and then proper tracing

Also how about a unified national response, not governors doing whatever they want

Or a clear and concise message regarding masks and seriousness of the virus from the leader that doesn't contradict everything his doctors and scientists are saying

A national mask mandate would also be nice

Almost all countries aren't riding it out until science brings a cure but got the virus under control and are safely opening up the economy and schools. The US is in the minority

I am not trying to criticize anyone, asa diabetic I have a healthy concern about this disease but I have also lost my job due the response and have seen my boys suffer in their education and socializing.

I don’t speak as an educator so I don’t presume to come up with the best ( or any) plan.  I just know their will be consequences in every part of our culture and they will only be worse the longer everything is shut down

That's the problem, lots of people(including Trump and his stooges) want everything to open but no plan on how to do it safely. The best plan to open up the economy, schools and anything else is to control the spread of the virus and lower the cases counts, not to just ignore it. Lots of countries have cases in the hundreds and are opening up.

Exactly. Local municipalities should be able to decide for themselves.

So what happens when those that don't care to wear a mask go to the next city over hang out with others who aren't wearing masks when no mandated and bring the virus to their city that mandates a mask. Kind off defeats the purpose of the mask mandate in 1 city and not in another city 15 minutes away.

this the boat I'm in. I'm in the higher risk group because of my age and weight. I can't begin to count how many times in my career I've been sick because little Timmy just HAD to come to school inspire of his 101 temp and raging sore throat. Time after friggin' time, year after year. We've had times where it spreads through the classes like fire through dry brush on a windy day. While we plan to do a temp check when we get back to campus, I fear it's possible for an infected kid to slip through the cracks, and then there could be really trouble.

The conflict in all of this for me is that I realize how much the kids need the human interaction and that it's easier to teach them in person. plus I miss them.

I mean based on that outlined plan above, a student would get only 40 minutes of class time a week, having to wear a mask, no group projects, sitting 6 feet away from everyone. Is that 40 minutes a week really worth the risk?

I want to hear* the libs’ response to this.

Did you even open the article? It’s foxnews

“The exception came as New York’s rate of infections has remained consistent through the civil unrest over the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd.

A late-June study from the National Bureau of Economic Research found no evidence that coronavirus cases jumped in 315 cities in the weeks after the first protests.“

Why would we need volunteers? This is a paying job.

It's funny because every time I go to the grocery store I see people working and interacting with others all day. These people aren't exactly in the peak of health either. What makes teachers better than them?

Volunteer to become a replacement teacher, because there will definitely be a shortage. You can make their salary

Grocery stores, at least the one I go to, have a partition and people are required to wear masks and keep 6 feet away from grocery workers working behind that partition. Unless you are ok with your kids teachers staying behind a wall sized partition all day(like a grocery store) and not get closer than 6 feet to your kids, and your kids being sent home if they don't wear their mask(like they would at a grocery store) I wouldn't compare a grocery store worker with a teacher.

There are millions of people going to work everyday in constant contact with strangers. Come fall, schools need to open up. If some teachers don't want to go to work they can be replaced.

You are underestimating how many teachers will need to be replaced due to being high risk, elderly, or having high risk or elderly at home. Schools are overcrowded and short of teachers as it is. Now they will have to social distance, meaning class size cut at least by half so 2x more teachers will be needed in an already short staffed field. Are you willing to volunteer as a replacement?

Does anyone here have two good friends with the same name?

Hell, I don't even have two friends with the same first name.

That's because you are not as popular or as dumb as Donald Trump. You will be taking your own SAT's

It will come back to them unless they've developed some type of immunity

It doesn't have to come back if the testing and contact tracing is good and people quarantine when they test positive or are contacted due to a possible exposure.

Problem now is that cases are so high it's impossible to contact trace every one

The problem is he is right and wrong.  Schools should be opened up in probably 80% of the country.  It's the 20%, mainly urban areas that will have issues.  In other words opening schools up in LA is a lot different than opening schools up in Barstow.  Heck, opening up in LAUSD is going to be a lot different than if the Marlboro school in Hancock Park opened up.

It really isn't because people travel, parents travel, with how contagious this virus is all it takes is one trip to LA and that school in Barstow can have an outbreak.

    1) You must not be familiar with HIPAA laws and how they work. You are free to Google opinions from doctors that diagnose this condition, but his medical records are not going to be on the internet all willy nilly. I don't care about this site or the content, but they compiled a pretty solid list of him, that will be below.

    2) I didn't bring up or mention Trump....not sure why you did.

    3) Yes

    https://consortiumnews.com/2020/03/06/stop-calling-it-a-stutter-dozens-of-examples-show-bidens-dementia-symptoms/

    1. Pretty sure Biden will release his medical report so we will see

    2. He is running against Trump so it’s fair to mention his cognitive abilities

    3. Looks like Kanye will be running so you have a different non career politician to vote for now

You are assuming that this virus will ever be under control. How many other viruses and bacteria have been out there for our entire lives that are never under control? We may have to accept that this is just something we will have to live with now. Just like we do with all the other germs out there.

Yes I have stated this before but many other countries have controlled the virus and have started opening up schools. All those countries Donny tweeted about in his rant such as Germany, Sweden and a couple others he mentioned. What he failed to point out was those counties had a total daily case count of like 500 combined and a population of 100 million.
