JAHV76 reacted to PattyD22 in The Outdoors Thread
I posted this in the New Years Eve thread, but thought @Redondo, @gotbeeror others might like it. It’s the New Years Eve tradition in Big Bear at Snow Summit. It’s called Torches at Night, and they send 200 skiers down with lighted torches. They used to do it at Midnight, but not anymore. Thats just too damn late, and too damn cold.

JAHV76 reacted to HaloNArizona in My Wife Wrote a Children's Book
After retiring from her 17 years as a pre-school teacher, my wife wrote her first children's book, and although I may be a little biased, I think it's pretty darn good book. Thought I would post something about here.

JAHV76 reacted to Tank in Hanford Guy's Hijacked Memes Thread
So last summer I wore some Dodger stuff to a game in Phoenix, fulfilling a promise to my 8th graders last year. My co-worker took a picture and posted it far and wide, and received plenty of grief over it, including plenty here.
For our gift exchange, one of my 7th graders asked his secret Santa for this, much to his delight and my horror.

JAHV76 reacted to jsnpritchett in The Official Los Angeles Angels 2023-2024 Hot Stove Offseason Thread
MLB.com picked one prospect from each team that they're looking forward to seeing in 2024. The Angels prospect...is a guy they haven't even drafted yet.

Angels: Seaver King, OF/SS (No. 9 on Draft Top 100)
In our first full mock for the 2024 Draft, King was the choice for the Angels at No. 8. Given that the Angels have had the first draftee to reach the big leagues in the last two years (Zach Neto, their 2022 first-rounder and Nolan Schanuel, their top pick in 2023), it only stands to reason that they take another college bat and watch him race to Los Angeles.
