  1. Day game tomorrow 11:05 Pacific, then back to the Big A vs. Houston. Don't understand why the AL West teams don't play the Rangers and Astros consecutively when they travel to Texas.
  2. Come on Mike, 2 run HR. He's trying...splits the outfielders. Albert get a hit, no groundout or DP
  3. There's the opportunity. Runner on 2nd 2 out on the error.
  4. Cigarettes, snuff, and e-cigarettes are all dangerous. My ex-wife's uncle was a doctor and I asked him if cigarettes were known to be dangerous before the surgeon general's report, warning signs on packaging, etc and he said Yes. For many tobacco use is fashionable. I think it starts to be, then becomes a habit.
  5. https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/josh-hamilton-wont-play-2016-214900382.html Probably Mickey Mantle, Willie McCovey, and others played with worse knee problems than Josh has.
  6. Great performance last night. We've got some people really stepping up for the team. I don't expect Tropeano to go back to AAA unless he really fizzles out.

  8. I've been to Minute Maid Park with the retractable roof and Globe Life Park is much nicer. But the sun is intense, especially in left field at Globe, and I had to use sunscreen. Minute Maid is a ball park squeezed into a rectangular structure. If you get a cheap seat in left field it is hot when the roof was closed. In the 7th or 8th inning they retract the roof and the air conditioning finally reaches those seats. These fans can't see balls hit in the left field corner. If you get a seat around home plate it is cool and comfortable, and you can see everything.
  9. I don't have many complaints about Scioscia. Sometimes I think he uses too many pitchers and depletes his bullpen in the next game or two. I understand why he does it, just don't always agree. The Angels have a manager that out ranks the GM, but that's Arte's doing and not Scioscia's. Generally I like his willingness to change lineups and try different strategies and players to get out of team slumps. Sometimes I think he sticks with a player too long, but fans aren't known for their patience.
  10. http://mlb.nbcsports.com/2016/05/20/texas-rangers-to-get-a-new-retractable-roof-ballpark/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs&yptr=yahoo&ref=yfp Super nice park, but it can be really hot in summer. Evidently the heat is taking a bite in attendance. Plus, the existing park is caddy corner to the Dallas Cowboys stadium, which probably presents parking problems if both teams are playing the same day. I remember CJ Wilson saying he took 2 IVs before his starts there. I also remember Jared Weaver having trouble pitching in the extreme heat.
  11. The Dodgers signed Angel rejects Blanton and Kazmir.
  12. He's right when it comes to the 20th century Angels. They signed a ton of retreads that didn't work out. Who in the Angels position with pitching injuries wouldn't be interested in Lincecum?
  13. I would like the Angels to use revenues from expired contracts to upgrade scouting and international scouting. I had a dialogue on Twitter with Jeff Fletcher and someone else I don't know. Jeff said that the Angels had increased the number of scouts this year. The other guy claimed that the Angels were still in the lower tier of MLB teams in resources devoted to scouting. I don't know if this guy is correct or not, but I really believe the Angels need to take the player development fork in the road in the future.
  14. What I've thought all year (and last year) is that the pitching is better when there's run support. If you can be relaxed and focused, and feel like your teammates can pick you up if you make a reasonable number of bad pitches, the team is more successful.
  15. Shoemaker has the makings of a fine pitcher. Listening to the St Louis announcers during his last start they said he had a fine arm but location is why he got bombed. I sure hope Shoe gets it together.
  16. I'm impressed, whether this works out or not. I didn't think the Angels would do this. The pitchers need to believe they will get run support. The team as a whole needs to know ownership has their back.
  17. What a series! That's a great follow-up to that bad homestand.
  18. I asked Jeff Fletcher if the Angels were among the leaders in spending for scouting and international scouting. The answer has to be yes if the Angels are going to have a future.
  19. Arte might see it as a "last defiant act" Given his stalemate with the City of Anaheim.
  20. Good for them they're changing the lineup. If a team needed to get out of town for a while it's this one.
