My point is, why should we have to chose from players who are arguably better than each other in different categories , yet all options are below average and below replacement level in the majors. I want a solid MLB player.

Meaning, I do not have hope for Hermosillo. He was a below average minor league hitter with a career 267 Batting average. So he will likely be a below average major LEAUGE hitter. You do not bat below average in the minors to all of a sudden turn it on in the majors. And, not many teams have a starter who was a below average hitter in the minors. It is usually a direct correlation that when you do not hit well in the minors, that you will not hit well in the majors.

I generally agree. But he is a 260ish career minor LEAUGE hitter too. So I do not have much hope. Not many teams have a 260 minor LEAUGE hitter as a starter.

I honestly dnt know. But all the other options are Hermosillo, blash, and EYJR. Hermosillo isn’t anything spectacular and Blash makes Valbuena look like a gold Glover. I think it comes down to us needing to get another outfielder
