    Ok, post lottery draw discussion.

If Kesler is done.  Like hip replacement, retire from the NHL.  Should the Ducks trade the #20 pick to say Ottawa to get rid of Kesler's cap hit?  That would save the Ducks $6.875 million in cap over the next 3 years.

That seems drastic. I know putting a player on the LTIR(etirement) isn't the equivalent of wiping the contract out completely, but shouldn't it give the team enough flexibility to work around it?

I still say it's a mistake.  Especially the 5 year part.  2 + 1, ok, might be worth the gamble.  But 5?

The team is going to suck for multiple seasons regardless of coaching. You aren't going to get a decent coach without paying in advance for years 3-5. I'm just surprised he didn't take the Buffalo job. They are already well into respectability.

Might be a blessing if you don't get Todd Maclellan.  I mean, with all that talent on the Oilers, and they still suck.  Plus a 5 year contract is insane for someone that doesn't have a track record.

If they hire MacLellan, than Rob Blake is truly not GM material and is then making Dave Taylor look like Dean Lombardi.

I would then be scared at who Blake took with that lottery pick.

those are exactly the arguments i would have used.

major PASS on this guy. he's done nothing of note.

The Oilers problem isn't with the coaching...  They are just the scapegoats for the bigger issue  Maclellan is a hell of a coach. Got upper management who can't assemble a whole team and players (not name McDavid) who think the league is just a big party.  Maclellan would have been a nice pick up but really the team just needs a teacher without an ego who can teach the kids during this rebuild and keep morale from cratering.

I don’t understand why anyone has any faith that if any genuinely damning information exists it will ever come out or matter.  Barr is and has been a Trump surrogate.  He was an unsolicited constant critic of the mueller investigation before he was AG.  And we’re to believe this mans justice department is going to act in any way that will threaten the president ? Moreover, The Republicans in Congress, who control a chamber have shown no willingness to challenge Trump on anything.  Honestly stop it.  It’s all pointless.  The investigation ran its course.  That’s it.

Trumps disgusting administration is constantly working to immiserate regular people.  Constantly lying about everything.  This new attempt to go after healthcare is a fuc*king gift on a golden platter.  They’re literally trying to funnel nuclear tech to the Saudis.  That’s just in the last week.  And so many of these  idiots just can’t bring themselves to target that shit.  It’s infuriating.

You're starting to sound as cynical as me. I do worry about some of the good people left at DOE who are being put in uneviable positions.

True. But we can't discount the fact that there is a systemic unfairness when it comes to African-Americans being tried in our court system.

Yeah. However it's hard to separate how much of it is economic and how much is racial. To compound this we then have to separate how much of the economic aspect is itself racial based.

I just want to say I have full faith in Robert Mueller and I will accept whatever his findings are.

Now, lets see the full report.

I admire your consistency, even if investigation's dubious nature and unlikely independence has been obvious since the beginning.

Because he wouldn't always toe the party line? God forbid that a Senator have independent thought and do what he believes is right rather than what the party bosses want.

You really believe McCain of all people personified that? His "independence" was all hype.

Though the current perspective of McCain by those that oppose Trump certainly shows Trump's power to manipulate. Anything his opposes they will support. I bet if his said that he hated Arbys, he could make their clientele overnight resemble Starbucks.
