  1. Blanton replacer or bona fide leadoff hitter
  2. That's like 3-4 years of "luck" now. On the other hand, how long does 2002-2009 hold sway for Scioscia being a good manager?
  3. Don't we have the same potential roster?
  4. Why is Washington a winner then?
  5. Not sure I believe this. The players aren't performing well all around. If Pujols, Hamilton, Wilson perform like they're supposed to and we don't have all the injuries, we should be a lot better.
  6. "Don't forget the 50-minute lecture!"
  7. Shouldn't that be "crying... crying...crying when I go outside..."
  8. I've done it and for me, it can be more relaxing than going with anyone.
  9. They have many resources. They just have to be smart. I see no reason to demolish the foundation, although there are cracks that must be filled. It's not an aging team. You'd be surprised what can happen with a good starting staff and a capable bullpen.
  10. .292 career batting average. I saw his career stats and he seems pretty consistent to me
  11. Point taken, but then if those players are trying to walk wouldn't they get crucified for not driving in runs? I think the credo in baseball is to be aggressively smart. I'm sure you didn't mean it this way, but I don't want those guys trying to walk.
  12. Definitely not a go-to guy, but I think an important cog to the team. I'd hate to see him get traded in the "fire sale" talk of late.
  13. How important to the team is he? HK is my favorite player and I know he gets a lot of flak here for grounding into double plays. I still think he's one of the best players on the team and one of the best second basemen in the majors. Do you think the team will be better with or without him? P. S. I was on my Blackberry watching Gameday when he came up in yesterday's game with men on first and second in the 8th and GIDP. Doesn't change my opinion of him.
  14. I said Proceed with Caution. I would be willing to trade some if the team totally tanked, perhaps Aybar, Hanson, Bourjos.
  15. From the context of the article, I don't think so. He's just stating how fired up the Astros are.
  16. Not to make excuses, but I really think the Halos thought the Astros were going to play dead for them. Again, I don't know if they have the oomph and fortitude to get out of this funk, but they're really letting down their fanbase by playing like this. The offense wasn't supposed to be the problem. I'm not for a fire sale because I still believe in the team, but we need some players with heart who can rev up this dying engine.
  17. We don't have a lot of options and he's a California guy, isn't he? I'd like to keep him and see if we can upgrade Hanson and Blanton's slots.
