  1. The thing is, his bat is only better as a middle infielder, you put his bat anywhere else and it's not as great. You wouldn't play him as a DH. I don't mind playing him as a regular, but Scioscia needs to replace him if the team has a lead with a defensive replacement, that'll keep his glove off while maintaining some semblance of value for Johnny.
  2. I wasn't expecting very much from Johnny, I mean Howie was a borderline all-star caliber player averaging 3.5 WAR the last 5 seasons. I can't complain about a player making near league minimum and playing as a league average player. That was the knock when he was in the Royals system, great bat, no glove.
  3. .5 WAR so far this year. If his D improves he'd be a pretty solid everyday player.
  4. Royals paid a huge price for Zobrist. Per HardballTalk's Aaron Gleeman: http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/07/28/royals-make-another-big-move-get-ben-zobrist-from-as/ They are indeed going for it this year. Big upgrade at 2B for KC as Infante was KC's Joyce. That should probably be worth two to three extra wins over the rest of the season. Strong favorite to win the AL right now.
  5. The only portion I listen to is the baseball report, because he usually has an expert baseball writer on. Anything to keep Lodge from voicing his opinions.
  6. No idea why Angels traded for him. Angels offense doesn't have issues against LHP.
  7. -1.9 oWAR? Link? Baseball reference has it listed at .6 last season and .3 this season for oWAR. And Bourjos wasn't the one I was upset about, it was Grichuk and while Salas is a solid reliever, solid relievers are a dime a dozen.
  8. Considering what the Angels gave up for Freese, getting a comparable player for essentially for free, is nothing to bash the team about. Yes, last season is last season, but it does show what he's capable of which is a bit better then what Freese is currently capable of.
  9. Not sure why people are ripping this trade. Last season, he had .750 OPS and was a 1.6 WAR player, this year he's struggling but not like Joyce struggling and is still only 28 and the Angels didn't give up anything. Oh by the way, by WAR, Gillaspie was a better player last season. Gillaspie: .282/.336/.416 2.8 oWAR/-1.2 dWAR 1.6 WAR Freese: .260/.321/.383 2.3 oWAR/-.9 dWAR 1.4 WAR Good trade IMO.
  10. He had a solid season last year and is 26. Wonder what the Angels gave up.
  11. This is a great trade for 'Stros based on what I've read so far. The C prospect is probably going to replace Vogt in the not so distant future.
  12. Any Astros prospect experts in here? Good value for A's? Bad trade?
  13. Heard the concert go cancelled due to the rain.
  14. How many more seasons until everyone starts describing him as a future hall of famer?
  15. Mr wicked, when the term "final table" is used for a tournament it usually means the last final table, as it's the final 10/9/6 players remaining. Sometimes in huge tournaments like the WSOP main event after a long time, it's sometimes referred to when there are the final 3 or 2 tables remaining in the tournament. It's still the same tournament but they're just referring to it as the final 2 or 3 remaining tables, while the "final table" term is usually reserved for the last and final table left in the tournament. The March madness type of poker tournament is called a shootout where there's 1 winner from each table that meet again at another table during the same tournament, until the final 10/9/6 players are playing at the last final table.
  16. Stradling, I disagree with this sentiment. If Trout has the career that we know he's capable of and spends his entire career as an Angel, sure he'll be overpaid at the end, but I can definitely see a Jeter-like sentiment happening with Trout, just because he did things the right way with no controversies surrounding him and how he carried himself on and off the field.
  17. I'm sure the Padres would love this trade. Bowden is a hack and is out of touch with the way prospects are currently valued. I usually read his articles for amusement.
  18. Not quite sure but I think it's either 5+1 or 6+1 regardless of pot size.
  19. What? I remember this story about him winning some huge MTT off a FPP satty, might have been a low or mid level SCOOP, but did not follow up on the aftermath. Edit: found it, wow his run was even more impressive than I remembered.
  20. I highly suggest not playing low stakes cash poker here in Southern California due to the rake, but there's plenty action all around. Each room has their own daily tournaments check out http://www.pokeratlas.com/poker-tournaments/los-angeles/upcoming
  21. Average buy in looks low, I would guess former PStars $4 180 man grinder? And the 400 games is like over a week?
  22. SSD drives are the nuts, used to have a laptop with one at work, was so awesome.
