  1. Here are the keys according to my worthless opinion:

    • Calhoun catches fire (Had Figgins just gotten warm in 2009, we would have two rings, IMO).
    • CJW pulls his Head n Shoulders out of his ass and is, at the very least, serviceable.
    • Shoemaker comes back and pounds the strike zone, maintains his aggressive approach, controls counts.
    • Freese channels his inner Redbird.
    • Weaver steps up, avoids big innings. Limits the bombs.
  2. It's the K's that bum me out a little about him, particularly the backwards ones. A K is just a worthless plate appearance, and if he would've just swung at 1/4 of the borderline pitches that he got rung up on this year, I gotta think that at least 1/6th of those would have resulted in a hit (duck fart, leg hit, etc). The kid is so strong and fast that simply making contact causes problems for the defense. After what Baylor said after he got hired regarding strikeouts, I thought we would see a significant drop team-wide this year. Hasn't happened with the young messiah...

  3. I heard somewhere he may have cheated to achieve his record-breaking numbers. I don't like to blame people without evidence, but there was definitely some suspicious stuff going on, from what I've heard.

You better come strong w/a link if you're gonna be spreading that kind of blasphemy, Ray!  :D

  4. Man. When Hamilton is in this mode, he is absolutely horrible. A guy who grew up being the best youth player anybody had ever seen (by many accounts) sure seems to have very questionable mechanics and baseball instincts sometimes. It's kinda confounding to me. He must have a ton of stuff buzzing around in that dome of his...Josh, quiet the voices, man...cosmic dolphins, Josh..
