  1. Yep, I'd be okay with Eppler splurging there if it means Cowarts glove at third. Fernandez, Heyward, Trout, Pujols, Calhoun, Cron, Perez/Soto, Simmons, Cowart? If they really wanna go crazy, they could re-sign Freese.
  2. If only they could get a leadoff option at second base to hit in front of Heyward. I love Heyward, but I want him hitting second with someone else who can get on base at a decent rate in front of him. Then you go Trout, Pujols, Kole, Cron, and Freese. Love if Arte went ham and signed Fernandez to eventually join he club.
  3. Simmons is light years ahead of Aybar defensively, Soto replacing Iannetta as the backup catcher is a defensive improvement, Pennington replacing Featherston seems like an offensive and defensive upgrade (Pennington has a reputation as a good defender), and I'd think the FO feels like Cunningham or Ortega can be a cheaper alternative to Cowgill. Keep up the run prevention.
  4. And he's a million times better defensively.
  5. Soooooo much this. Without looking, Freese must've been second (which is scary). Heyward and another decent OBP guy would be very welcome to the lineup. The Angels don't really need a lot more power.
  6. Oh and there's the "RBI" mention. Yeesh.
  7. I cannot take the guy seriously, who honestly thinks Santiago gets Polanco or even gets the Marlins attention for Yelich. In fact, I should take everything you say the opposite way. Soooo you should overpay for defense.
  8. Meh, doesn't seem like the wisest way to spend the money.
  9. Exactly, I'd be happy with Heyward and a few other complementary pieces. Couldn't complain.
  10. I'd rather them go after Maeda or Fernandez.
  11. It'd be a little more low key, but what about a platoon of Gerardo Parra and Rajai Davis?
  12. Go bonkers, Arte! Heyward or Gordon, Fernandez (the new Cuban defector), Alvarez (Pedro), and Tony Sipp or Joakim Soria.
  13. I'd be interested in Alvarez, they have an open spot on the bench (Pennington is the UTIF, Soto/Perez the backup catcher, and Ortega /Cunningham will probably fight for the four outfielder role). And I have been in favor of adding some lefty thump off the bench. Depends on his price I guess.
  14. Okay? So go into the season with Giavotella or Pennington playing second, then move them when Fernandez is ready.
  15. They should be interested, but they probably won't. Good to see he finally got out of Cuba, he was a hopeful to sign last year I believe.
  16. Crazy to think what he might be able to do with a healthy Stanton and budding Yelich.
  17. Dang, he was an early offseason target of a lot on here (myself included). Halos shouldn't wait around too long while the cheaper options are picked up. Maybe this means they're going after a bigger fish?
  18. Hmm well if they do intend to push Sano to left, it makes sense. Dammit! Martin Prado could be the next target, Eppler has some experience with him back in his NY days.
  19. But seriously, do you ever look this stuff up before you talk out of your ass cheeks?
  20. Defensive metrics beg to differ. He's above average, that's a good thing to have.
  21. Seriously though, sign Heyward already. Eppler's clearly going for a run prevention team. Sign Heyward, trade for Plouffe or Prado (preferably without giving up a starter) or sign Hwang, sign a FA pen arm, beg Arte to sign a stud SP.
  22. Woah, a major league deal for a guy with 4 AB's in the show. Interesting...
