Armies don't fight long w/o food.  Gold in the end does them no good during a siege.  So the iron bank gets theirs (do they ?) but what's really important to cersei are those supplies and they're all gone.  Logistics is what wins wars ! I thought that was a really smart by the creators.

I understand that but Daenerys armies need to eat too.  They went to an abandoned dragonstone which probably had little food.  She then sends her forces to Casterly Rock which Jaimie said they cleared out of food before the invasion.  Food is going to be an issue for her and Jon Snow's men.  I would think that they could have captured those supplies and used them instead of turning them to ash.  Maybe they saved some of it but the whole scene where the dragon just destroys a long line of supplies instead of the of the soldiers that were on either side of the supplies seemed to me like a waste.  Maybe they eat all the dead soldiers and my whole point is moot.

I think the scene started out with them saying that the gold made it through the Kings Landing gates.

However it appeared that all of the grain and other supplies were destroyed.

yea I didn't understand the strategy there.  I would have used the dragon to bbq all the soldiers and then had the Dothraki take all the supplies back to dragonstone.   Why destroy all the supplies that are loaded into wagons and ready for transport?

to be clear, both of the houses i was considering putting offers in for had just been listed that day.

anything good at my price point is going under contract within 24 hours of listing.

my agent has been great. i know all he cares about is his commission, but he hasn't tried to push me at all.  for the first place i put in an offer for, he showed me the text of the listing agent saying they had a few offers already, and would be reviewing them at 5 PM that night. it fell through, but there's always another house.

waiting on a response for another offer i put in. should find out within the next few hours.

When I was buying my first place in 2010 I was only approved for 180K so everything in my price range was selling for over the list price and fast.  It was so frustrating seeing offer after offer not being accepted even when I was offering at list or 5K over. This went on for 6 months with 50+ offers submitted.  We finally got contacted buy a listing agent of the 3rd condo I had put an offer in on.  Their original buyer fell through so they were contacting me to see if I was still interested.  Worked out well for me.  So when a listing agent says they will take your offer as a back up it might work out for you in the end.  Hang in there.

  4. Now that the ED is over, who do you guys want the Ducks to target in free agency?  I like Eaves and would be fine with him at $2.5 or less for 2 years but he will probably be offered more by another team.  We need a 3rd line center and a left wing so what if we got Thornton and Marleau and put them on the 3rd line together? Instant chemistry and  I think they would both take a discount to stay in CA and go to a team with a real shot at the cup.  I would be ok with Vanek on a 1 year deal after his good season with Detroit last year but it would have to be a 1 year deal to keep him motivated.  Miller for backup goalie seems to fit too well to not happen, hopefully he is willing to take a backup pricetag too.   We will need to pick up a 7th dman too but I would be fine bringing Holzer back if he is willing to take the same roll again.

If you are in the Santa Ana near St. Joseph's go to Anecalpo. They have one near the stadium as well, by the Ayres hotel.

I work down the street and on my first day my boss took me here for lunch.  It was really good!  A month later it was Christmas and the same boss gave all of his employees $20 gift cards to there.  I lost the gift card in my desk and found it a year later.  Went there for lunch but when we tried to pay with the gift card they said they have a new payment system now and wouldn't take the gift card...  The way they handled that situation made it so I couldn't justify going back there.

I'm bored.  So going with a long winded 4 team Would you, and would they?

Vatanen to Dallas for pick #3 and Ritchie

Pick #3 and expansion draft Despres to Magnetos for Pick #6

Pick #6 and one of Theodore or Montour to Lightning for Drouin

Dallas trade is pretty self explanitory, I think they are exposing Ritchie to the expansion draft anyways, so it's a plus for them.  Magnetos would move up 3 spots.  With Vatanen off the board for the Ducks it really doesn't leave much for them to pick at on our team.  So they move up 3, if Despres recovers from his concussions, it's a big plus for them.  If not, they just LTIR when the season starts.  Drouin is a RFA.  Lightning need a dman but are against the cap.  Both Theodore and Montour have 1 year till RFA.

For the Ducks.  We lose Vatanen, Despres, and Theodore/Montour for Ritchie and Drouin.  We'd clear about $9 million off the books.  Of course adding them with Ritchie who is probably going to be about $1 million, and Drouin.  Maybe like a Tifoli deal 3 year/$4.6 million hit?

    Lines:

    • Rakell/Getzlaff/Drouin
    • Silf/Kessler/Cogs
    • Ritchie/Thompson?/Ritchie
    • Shaw/Vermette/Kase

Mix and match.  If Eaves comes back then move Drouin in place of Cogs.  Thompson is a FA, but I can't see him being much.

    Defense:

    • Fowler/Manson
    • Lindholm/Bieska
    • Theodore Montour/Stoner

Still have Larsson Megna and Welinski.

And Perry gets relegated to the bench all season?

  7. Went to Alaska last August and loved it!  My cousin lives in Anchorage so she took us all over the place.  My favorite location was Talkeetna, a small resort town on the edge of the river.  The Denali Brewery was there too so you cant beat that.

I have an English Bulldog that's almost 7. Not a single medical issue yet. Knock on wood.

Same here.  He will be 7 in July, but no issues minus his crusty nose that I can't seem to fix. I have bought that snout soother stuff but he just licks his nose for an hour after I put it on so I doesn't have a chance to work.

  9. We bought a house a little over a year ago and we have found some things out the hard way.  We had a home inspection done and they made some minor notes about certain issues but nothing too alarming. One big issue that came up that the inspection didn't uncover was in the master bathroom.  The whole house was remodeled when we bought it so everything looked brand new including the master bathroom.  The stand up shower in there had new tile and everything looked great.  Too bad they didn't hot mop(waterproof) the shower pan before tiling the shower.  This led to water leaking through the grout and into the walls surrounding the shower.  we had two big dressers up against the other side of the wall so we didn't notice the water damage until it was rather extensive.  One way to check if a tiled shower has been properly waterproofed is to cover the drain in the shower completely and see if the shower will hold the water.  Don't depend on the home warranty to cover all repairs either.  We had a gas line issue and tried to use the home warranty for it.  They sent out a company to check out the issue.  The company gave us a quote of $3k for the repair and the home warranty would contribute a whopping $250 towards the repair.  When we had the leaky shower pan they wouldn't cover any of the costs but our home owners insurance did.  I guess I was naïve for assuming the home warranty would be more beneficial then it really was.

this shit has been going on for years and is part of the ridiculous tmz world we live in now. it started with that white dude and stephen a. smith on espn and the whole premise of the show is literally for them to argue against each other. it's literally the dumbest thing in sports, but sadly has the highest ratings. i don't care to watch either show, but have seen clips  on various sports shows and there are times one of the two literally make shit up or purposely come up with an asinine counterpoint for the sake of arguing.

bums me out that when the white guy you mention left espn for fox (yes, that means we now have two of these types of shows in circulation), now max kellerman stepped in and i don't think does his radio show anymore....granted, i'm not in a position to really listen to sports talk anymore.

I will listen to sports talk radio sometimes in the afternoon but when Stephen A Smith is on I turn it off.  Who wants to listen to a guy yell his points at his audience the whole time?

  11. If Cam is seriously injured it will really hurt our playoff chances but it might make management protect Manson for the expansion draft over Fowler.  Vegas probably wouldn't take cam with 1 year left on his deal coming off of a serious injury.  Just trying to look at the bright side of the situation but I still hope he is truly day to day.

Or at least Getzlaf was a serviceable 2/3 C being paid 1C money.  Same thing this year

You do realize Getzlaf is top 4 in the league in assists.  If you look at only centers he is top 11 in the league in points... I don't understand why people complain about him. He is one of the best in the league at his position.

Yeah she wants to go on the voice someday. She's only 14 though so she's got some time.

She's been getting vocal lessons and she practices once a week with her 80's rock cover band. Her voice has most definitely improved from her last time in the studio.

    Here's that one...

She sounds really good!  I was in an 80s cover band back in high school, Members Only.  To this day one of my favorite songs to sing is The Outfield Your Love.
