  1. I went to private school from 3-5 grade and when I started 6th grade at a public school I found that the public school was way easier than my private school.  Fast forward to high school and I had a buddy that went to Orange Lutheran while I went to a public high school. Partying with him was eye opening because there would be a lot of cocaine and pills at their house parties, and he made it sound like it was really common... Money doesn't always equal a safer environment.

  2. I tried to look this up but couldn't find any info on it...  Can Vegas trade the players they claim for the expansion draft?  I was thinking of a scenario where Vegas takes player A from a team in the central and then trades that player to another team in the central.  You don't see a lot of inner division trades especially if both teams have high expectations for the upcoming season but you could use vegas to help facilitate it.   It could be advantageous to vegas as well.  Lets say vegas wants two players from the Ducks.  They are both not protected but they could only take one.  Vegas comes to us and says "We are going to take vermette but we also want Manson.  Is there anyone you want from any other team that wont be protected that we can take to trade for him?"  Anyone know the rules for this?

if you want it, just buy it.

american cars are easy to fix anyways.

    f*ck challengers. get the 'vette.

ps the new vettes are amazing, i vote for one of those.

I haven't liked a corvette since the 50s and 60s models but the new ones look amazing!

  4. The best is meatballs!  Any time I need to bring a dish to an event I bring meatballs. Directiontions; Fill with frozen meatballs, add one bottle BBQ sauce, and cook for 4-6 hours.  Grab a box of toothpicks and you are set.  I always get a ton of complements on them too.

  5. My wife isn't very "traditional" in anyway so I went with a black diamond engagement ring.  The center stone is almost 2 carats with regular white diamonds surrounding it and I paid just under $1200.  When you don't have to worry about clarity you can get a pretty big diamond for a lot less.  I looked into having the same ring made with a tigers eye stone as the center stone and the jeweler wanted something like $1,700... Thought that was weird since you can buy a tigers eye stone the size of a quarter for less than $10.

Feliz makes me very, very nervous. His FIP was 4.52, so he benefitted from some good luck and defense last year. His k/9 spiked dramatically and his h/9 dipped dramatically. The last times his numbers had a comparable trend was his rookie season, and last year was his first season in the NL, so he had some unfamiliarity working in his favor. He was very mediocre in several seasons before, and the AL West in particular is very familiar with him. And he always had some questionable conditioning/character issues. I would take him on a one-year deal, but someone is going to offer him more than that.

For right handed relievers, I like Junichi Tazawa, Luke Hochevar, and Drew Storen.  Jim Henderson would be my 'bargain' option as he would bring some much needed K/9 to the pen.

For lefties, I liked Dunn, but he's off the board ow. Blevins, Logan, or Howell are all intriguing. I still like Cahill or Feldman in a long-relief/spot starter role as well.

I think Chavez will fill that role unless he is in the rotation permanently.

  7. I have this one:

But I don't really like it as a bike, I only really use it as an elliptical. Wicked is right though.  Go and try a few out in store and see which one you like and then search for it on craigslist.  It wont take long to find one you want and you will save a lot of money.

  8. Through a raffle, I won a duck themed gift basket at work a few weeks ago.  I was emailed about it after I had gone home for the day on a Friday.  When I came in on Monday and saw the email I went to claim my prize from HR.  They said I had sent someone to pick up the prize for me on Friday.  I assured them that I didn't since I didn't even know I won until the following Monday... Turns out they gave my basket to someone else.  They offered me a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card instead even though the gift basket came with 4 club level tickets that had $20 food and beverage allowance for each, plus other Ducks swag.   Still ticked off about it.

back from vegas. never been before for thanksgiving. it was great, little quieter. the air outside was nice and chilly, and man it got dark early.

    had a blast though.

did dinner at Guy Savoy (holy f*ck), Nobu (always awesome), Vic & Anthony's (old school vegas, gorgeous place we try and hit up every time), and a few others like the steak place at the Mirage for A5 wagyu and some Macallan 18 year. So many great restaurants in that town. Plus 5am dive food at the casinos.

did cirque do soleil beatles LOVE, and we thought it was one, if not the best, cirque shows we've ever seen.

LOVE is my favorite too.  That was one of the first Cirque do solei shows I saw and none of them have lived up to it since.

  10. I love Top Gun!  Watching it as an adult I can see it for the terrible movie that it is( and very homoerotic) but for nostalgia purposes I still love it.  My wife and I started dating just a week or two before valentines day in 2012 so I didn't want to do anything too serious for the big day.  I made her dinner and then took her to see Top Gun in 3D during it's rerelease. My wife says she knew I was a keeper when I took her to that movie.  I was born in 85 and everyone my age that I know loves that movie too.
