  1. Just lol if they are indeed done In year that they’re needing to convince Ohtani to stay they go out and get Urshela, Renfroe and Tyler Anderson to “improve” their 73 win team And if Perry is working within a tight budget (which he will be) then spending 20 mill on Urshela and Renfroe is even worse. But these types of offseasons have been the norm for the Angels lately. Why everyone continues to expect it to lead to a successful season is truly beyond me
  2. Hosmer would be a great addition. You cannot go into this season depending on Walsh to turn it around. Hosmer is probably going to be a .330ish OBP guy. Give me that all day long
  3. Now we just need some other schmuck to sign Eovaldi and Lugo. Save Perry from himself
  4. Cohen latest liked tweet is one about him signing Correa Good for Cohen. If other owners don’t like it they could simply stop him by signing these players themselves Cohen is probably part of the reason why Arte is selling so thank you Steve
  5. Why would Arte do this? At this point he doesn’t really have any incentive to spend another dime. He’s not upping the value of this team by signing two massive long terms deals before walking out the door. If he was going to do this it would’ve been last year. Gave it one last go before selling. I can’t imagine he would be thrilled if he signed these guys and then watched the new owners celebrate a WS championship
  6. Gio and Renfroe combined will make roughly what Bassitt will this season There’s no way a new owner is going to make a gripe over the remaining 2 years 42 mill for a starter like Bassitt This is the issue with having a revolving door at Gm and pressure to win every year. They miss out on good deals because they’re busy trying to fill all of their holes from the previous year. It’s not realistic to bring this team from zero to hero in an offseason and yet they try to every single offseason. Hopefully with new ownership comes some stability throughout the organization
  7. What’re you talking about? Bassitt and Contreras we’re both free agents It’s clear it’s more of the same 1 year deal type stuff this offseason for the most part Every year, you guys get upset over me telling you this. Every season plays out the same. Then we have a crazy amount of holes to fill in the offseason and do it all again. We would’ve been better off signing Bassitt than trading for Gio and Renfroe
  8. 3/63 is a fantastic deal for the Jays Bassitt and Contreras are huge misses by Perry. Same old song and dance again this offseason
  9. Adames must be going to Atlanta. To give up Contreras for Murphy makes no sense
  10. I’m very curious to see who Oakland gets if Contreras (who is a massive get) is going to Milwaukee
  11. Bassitt, Conforto/Benny and trade for Nico or Gleyber If the Cubs don’t get a SS then trade for Gleyber Conforto should only get a 2-3 year deal with a player option after year 1
  12. The Mets aren’t done Apparently they’re in on Correa. He’d play 3rd next to his buddy Lindor
  13. As this slowly plays out more it’s looking much like the same old type of offseason The Anderson deal was just too good to pass up. Renfroe/Urshela more of the same 1 year commitment deals we’ve seen in the past The interest in Contreras falls under the same category as the Anderson deal. If Bassitt can be had for a similar deal I’d do that. If Perry is close to his budget limit and this offseason was about fielding a winning team to convince Ohtani to stay, he’s failed yet again. Unless new ownership is willing to throw around money like Cohen, our best chance at success in the near future is to trade Ohtani
  14. MLB is going to consist of a few superstar teams and the rest will just play meaningless games starting as early as June each year Arte saw the writing on the wall and decided to take his money and walk away. Hopefully we get some owners like Cohen, Pads, Dodgers or it’s not going to be very much fun
  15. Minasian whiffed so hard last season that much like Eppler did when he was here left himself way too many holes to fill without a big enough budget to do so in one offseason. Time and time again our GM’s are forced to try and make this club competitive every year when in reality it needs at least 2 off seasons. I think we’re seeing it happen again right now. The Renfroe deal isn’t good value for us and our needs. His OBP is terrible. This lineup needs guys that can get on base. He would’ve been much better off pursuing someone like Benintendi. At this point I’m hoping he signs Bassit assuming we lose out on Senga. We need some stability on this roster moving forward. So I’ll take it in the rotation. This way if you can’t bring back Ohtani your rotation isn’t in shambles next offseason. Bassitt, Anderson, Sandoval, Detmers is a nice start to filling out the rotation next offseason. Bassitt and a shortstop would be ideal. If the Cubs get Swanson and we can land Nico I think that would be really good. Start building for the future
