    If the Angels are serious about one of the 3 remaining shortstops and Perry has that kind of money to play with, I think I’d prefer we sign Contreras and Bassitt/Senga instead and trade for a shortstop (Hoerner) These guys are more likely to get 3-5 year deals which I’m all for versus the 10 year deals. Continue to add productive players to the roster and not put all our eggs in one basket

    The only acceptable logical answer for trading Sandoval would be if you said you think his best days are behind him and that we should cash in while his value is high Other than that give your head a shake. We’ve been pitching depleted since forever. Ohtani might be gone next season so to trade Sandoval for a bat and then lose Ohtani… We’re right back to square one

    Not really The Astros have pitching and now they’ll take that money they saved on Verlander and possibly add Contreras and another outfielder

    Imagine not trading Ohtani at last years deadline when his value was at its peak to run it back one last time but with Urshela, Renfroe and Andrus I like to think Perry kept Ohtani knowing he would be able to spend this offseason

    Especially considering the Braves have extended everyone and their dog on that roster already Swanson is a fastball hitter. The day he can’t catch up to them, his bat is 100% useless I really like Correa as I’ve stated before but Xander is right there with him for me. Xander just knows how to hit and get on base. We need more guys like that

    My preference is the same regardless of cost Turner (He’s going to Philly/east coast) Correa Xander Swanson The whole Neto thing is something you worry about when the time comes. We all dreamt of having a Marsh, Adell and Trout outfield and that never materialized. Xander will probably be playing 2nd in the near future. Correa given his size won’t be at short forever, Turner has position flexibility.

    Astros have reached out to Contreras apparently. The two guys I wanted most are going to end up in Houston… f sakes Talk about a stacked line up.

    Good lord no. We need Sandoval. Especially if Ohtani leaves. You can never have too many good pitchers. It would also be foolish to just assume Anderson is going to who he was last year again. This is why they need to just sign a damn shortstop. It’s unlikely they’ll do what’s needed and spend their way out of this mess but trading Sandoval for a guy who posted a .298 OBP last season ain’t it.
