I'm trying to like this deal but I'm just not seeing it. Cobb is projected to throw 132 innings this year; his career highs are 29 games and 179 innings. Trading a prospect, albeit from an area of depth, and taking on cash for an average, injury prone pitcher doesn't seem to really fill a need for us. I would tend to think that this is a precursor to another move but have seen this movie far too often over the last few years.
