Are the two sides really that opposite? At the end of the day, whether Trump gets re-elected or Biden does, we'll still be arguing about the same dumb shit in an oligarchy disguised as a democracy. I highly doubt my life, or really anyone here, changes much at all based on the outcome of this election. I mean maybe we'll take home $20 or $30 less or more a week depending on who wins, but I don't see any real dramatic change either way. Now, if the dems got behind Sanders seriously, then I think voters would be deciding between two very opposed viewpoints/policy agendas. But Biden and Trump? I don't think they're really all that different except in the media narrative.

A good friend of mine was in basic training for the Air Force and got swine flu. He said it knocked him on his ass, and he had to spend a week in the hospital during the middle of basic. I don't remember if he got to re-join his class, had to join another class, or just had to start over; but I do know he ended up having to spend more time in basic training because of it. Just shitty all the way around for him.

Exactly. I don't get the "it'll just be some watered down form of normal baseball" argument. I'll happily take whatever we can get when the time is right and it can be done responsibly/safely. I'll be perfectly willing to argue about how the league sets stuff up when they come back, but as long as it's some kind of a season/tournament/event I'll be happy.

I'm still all for a March Madness-style tournament if it's possible. Seven game series all the way through. Every team gets seeded according to record from last year (I'm sure some tiebreakers will be needed). WS teams from last year get a bye, but in a "screw the Astros" twist, we give their bye to the Yankees, because even being fair kinda sucks sometimes. From there, start the seven gamers. The max number of games a team would have to play to win it all would be 35, the minimum would be 16 (if a team with a bye sweeps every series). They could start this as late as mid-September and still get it done by the end of October.

I make pretty good oxtails. You could almost call it a stew really, as it's finished in a crock pot and I'll add in potatoes (sometimes other stuff too) toward the end. The oxtail recipe is sort of something I made up on my own over time, and I've got it to a point that I really like. I'd really like to start getting into Indian cooking. I freaking love Indian food, and the idea of playing around with so many different cooking techniques and the absolute boat load of spices that go into Indian meals sounds pretty fun to me.

Dude, the Gates fries were the best at Kauffman. They were like $3.50 for a giant box of steak fries with Gates sauce poured all over them. This is back in like ‘05-‘10. That deal could not be beat.
