  1. It's not cheating. Dude was just trying to get a call to go his way, and it did. It definitely shouldn't have, but it did.
  2. Pedro Martinez. Peak Pedro was just way too fun to watch.
  3. I love me a good Steinbeck joke.
  4. I agree with you. Dude is clearly a ball player and a good clubhouse guy. I don’t think he’s gonna hit .373 again, but I think he’s figured out who he is offensively in the last couple years. I think a .300/.330/.430 slash line is pretty achievable for him, and that makes him a huge steal when you combine it with his defense. He put together some really good ABs tonight. Like that last single when he and everyone else knew he was gonna get an outside slider and he just flipped it into shallow center. That’s exactly the guy we need him to be on offense.
  5. He’s right on the ownership thing. When everyone buys in and feels like they are contributing to the success of just about anything you start to see people do great things. It’s honestly a good life lesson in general.
  6. That’s the attitude I want out of a guy like Shohei. And he made them pay for it.
  7. Also, Jose used the word “outstands” in that interview. Dude made a new verb.
  8. That’s part of the charm. That and the way he answered Jose’s dumb question about what changed between ST and now. It was snarky, and I like snarky.
  9. Yeah, dude had no business being in that spot.
  10. I love this whole walking Trout to get to Rendon thing. This lineup is dangerous.
  11. I’m kinda liking the new look bad ass Shohei.
  12. I think a full house might be a month or two premature right now, but it doesn't bug me enough to be angry about it. These people understand where they are healthwise, and they understand the risks/responsibilities associated with attending something like a full house baseball game. They've had more than a year to figure that out and make their own decisions. All that said, a sizeable chunk of those crowds are either already at least partially vaccinated (and the number will grow massively in the coming months), or have achieved immunity in some other way. And cases seem to be trending downward generally. And it's basically an outdoor event. And it's already pretty warm down in Texas. The sheer amount of people is a bit worrisome to me, but there are lots of factors that limit the risk profile quite a bit. And honestly in about two months I think the risk shrinks to basically zero. So, in conclusion, meh... Let Texas do Texas shit.
